However, the Friday happy hour coffee sign on the pavement cleared up any confusion and I decided to try a cup of coffee from Jane Eyre. Despite its small size, the shop is very charming and they have managed to create a lovely ambiance within the limited space. It feels like a scene from a Jane Eyre novel! Despite facing tough competition and being slightly hidden by a nearby construction site, Jane Eyre still manages to attract customers. The coffee is not bad, maybe even better than the one at Bacino across the street. On Fridays, a regular size cup is only $2, which is a great deal and it tastes delicious too!
This was my go-to spot for breakfast when I was working in North Sydney. I always get either the 'Ham Cheese Tasty' or the 'Eggs Bacon with Barbecue sauce on Turkish Bread' to take away. Both options are fantastic! The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. They even remember you if you're a frequent customer.
Counter to what another reviewer said, the Poached Eggs on Sourdough and the Chicken Avocado Melt are very tasty! Very friendly and personable customer service. Will likely remember your order if you are a regular. Reasonably price for the area. Recommended to give it a try.
The usually frantic Mount Street is very quiet on the weekend and this is a nice little café to have breakfast or coffee. Most of the seating is outdoors, so wrap up if you 're planning to have a sit down meal in Winter. The big breakfast is big and quite good value. The salads are fresh. The service is friendly. Pro tip ask for your coffee to be served extra hot, they tend to serve it 'drinking straight away ' temperature. (I like my coffee the same temperature as nuclear reactor coolant so maybe normal people wouldn 't need to bother).
This café is perfect for a morning meeting over breakfast and coffee during the workweek.
