Avaliação da contribuiçãoStumbled across the Opentable website whilst looking for an eaterie that catered for a lobster lover. And by chance found the Lobster Bar and what a find! It didn't disappoint on any level. My lobster loving family member gave it a whopping rating of 9. Pretty amazing as the only other real contender; ever so slightly ahead at 10 is the Red Lobster chain in the States where the size of lobster tends to be greater. So size aside you're on to a winner if you decide to dine out here. Will most definitely visit again
Disappointing the overall lighting in the evening is just not good and totally ruins the ambience. we could not see our food and the light that was there was not pleasant at all. It is probably a lot nicer during the day, the place could look good for dinning with the right tasteful lighting. the food was not good at all; extreme lack of spices, taste and abundance. Wrong combinations and bad taste overall. not too expensive in general but overpriced by far for what we ended up with! the place needs some serious rethinking.
We went there for my boyfriend's bday. Table for 7pax. On a Saturday night. It wasn't busy inside but all the outdoor sitting was full. We mainly choose the little dishes to share between all of us, most of it fish, and everything was very tasty and well presented!! Service and cocktails where also great!!! Will definetely go back again
We came for lunch during a short holiday and had some of the best fish we have ever had. It is a pricier option but totally worth it. The fish is fresh and the portions are really generous. We shared the potted lobster starter which was small but delicious. Then had two mains which were totally different but equally as delicious. Came to about £100 including our drinks which felt really fair. The staff were also very welcoming, especially in getting us a bigger table so we could fit the pram in! It’s a must visit when coming to Bamburgh!
Booked for a birthday treat. First visit. We were looking forward to some lovely fresh seafood. We were really disappointed. We were sat so close yo the couple next to us, that we may as well have shared a table. My partner had the fish chowder starter which he said was nice. For our mains, i had fish goujons- they had no flavour or texture. The chips were poor, some hard and some soggy. The tartar sauce was good. My partner had the fish pie which was padded out with indiscriminate white fish and lots of mashed potato. I had dessert. Sticky toffee pudding. Very small portion. Whole experience lasted 90 minutes. The whole experience was decidedly average. Bill came to £80 which included one glass of wine and a bottle of sparkling water.
