Avaliação da contribuiçãoI know why this was voted one of the best seafood restaurants in Connecticut! My only lower score (3-star) was due to the noise level or maybe my aging ears. A younger version of myself might consider this an indication that diners were satisfied and happy. We also had a delightfully attentive waiter! Of course, I can't forget to mention the Hydro setting and the care taken to adjust the flight schedule of the appropriate props (swans). Although I couldn't hear most of my group's conversation (maybe that's best), my overall experience was lovely.
First and foremost, I RARELY give any restaurant five stars. This restaurant earned their five stars; food, service, atmosphere all hit the mark! The food is absolutely delicious. I'm a seafood lover and I must say it's the BEST seafood restaurant I've ever been to. Everything I ate was very fresh and the kitchen definitely know what they're doing. Calamari was crispy on the outside and tender inside. It comes with buffalo sauce, lemon aioli and bamu sauce which is a spicy thin Asian sauce. Clam chowder was creamy, had the usual bacon, clams and celery and garnished with a clam on the shell; great touch if you ask me. The spicy tuna tartare was my favorite thing I ate. It came with papadum chips that were light and crispy (better than potato chips! . The tuna tartare had the right amount of spice that didn't overpower your tastebuds but it let you know you were eating fresh, delicious tuna. The cucumbers added a very refreshing touch to the dish and I loved the wasabi aioli! The hot lobster roll was perfect. Coleslaw was delicious. The steamers are always messy to eat but worth it! I had a mini seafood feast and I was super satisfied leaving the restaurant. I usually finish a good meal with dessert but I had no room. There's always a next visit for that! I didn't try my son's cheeseburger because I strictly wanted seafood but it was cooked medium just how we asked and he said it was delicious. My son is a picky eater so if he says it's good, it's good. Ambiance is very nice. There's indoor and outdoor seating. If you're a sun lover you'd love to be outdoors with the sun shining on you while you dine with a great view of the water and boats. Inside had nice nautical decor. They had a nice bar area with lots of drinks. Our server, MJ, was amazing. He was very attentive to all our needs. It was our first time eating here and we will return because of MJ and the amazing food. Our cups were always full and finished dishes cleared away. I appreciate servers like MJ because it elevates the dining experience. Great food can only get you so far but hard workers like MJ truly magnify a great experience. The restaurant was super packed. They have valet parking and I honestly thought we would wait forever but we didn't. We got in right away and our food promptly came out. MJ made sure we got the food in the order we wanted and we didn't feel rushed or ignored. Again, this is why I'm giving them five stars! If you love seafood, great service and a beautiful view, check them out.
I really enjoy the ambiance of this place. It 's a very nice restaurant on the water. Parking is a bit of a hassle, so plan ahead on this. They don 't have self-parking other than on the street, but that 's a hassle as you need to parallel park and there 's cars coming through as you 're trying to do this. I recommend doing valet parking instead. It 's free, but please provide a gratuity to your valet. I recommend a $5 minimum on your way out. As for the restaurant itself, it 's nice inside but it is a bit of a crowded space. The space is tight and the tables are a bit close to each other. Not so much so that it doesn 't offer your party some privacy, but you are a little closer to folks here. I didn 't find it to be bothersome myself. The service is nice. The servers are friendly and the service is prompt. As for the food, it is spot on! I had their signature rowayton seafood lobster roll m, and it was delicious! It is warm, buttery lobster sandwiched into a piece of bread that tastes like a buttery French toast of sorts. The combination works perfectly. The lobster is perfectly cooked and seasoned. They also offer a Maine lobster roll which is served cold, also delicious. It 's just a matter of whether you prefer cold or warm lobster. Both are fantastic. They give good attention to their sides as well. I enjoyed the coleslaw and fries that came with my dish, and even the onion rings that I tried. The fries and rings were delicious and crispy while not being overly greasy. Along with entrees, there 's also a vast selection of appetizers and drinks. My family ordered their walk the plank beverage, a concoction made up of jalapeño-infused corazon tequila, lime and pear. It was delicious and a nice portion for the price. My experience was great overall. It is a clean, fairly priced restaurant with delicious cuisine and a variety of options. I highly recommend these folks. You won 't be disappointed!
You like East Coast water vibes with solid food? If you do, Rowayton seafood is for you. This place is very solid...but the views and vibe are what you come for and exactly what summer ordered. Went with the steamers and local lobster rolls. A goto staple in the area and it draws from the locals as well. They have a store right next door so you can buy any fresh seafood you didn't get a chance to order. Brendon's 101 right down the street if you want homemade ice cream for dessert. Summer time vibe without the commute if you live in Fairfied County.
To be upfront, we came here purely to get a lobster roll via takeaway. We ordered ahead and were only here long enough to run inside, grab food, and leave. The food was ready when it was supposed to be, which is a positive. The parking situation was a mess, I believe it is valet only because parking in the area is severely limited, and the shuffling of cars blocked up the street. Luckily I was able to drop my wife off, circle around, and pick her up. Now to the food. The bun was nicely toasted and buttery, but the lobster itself was tough. I was reminded of rock lobster, or of the lobster I would get on the submarine when I was in the Navy after we'd been underway for a couple few months. Certainly not the fresh, succulent lobster pieces I would have expected. The coleslaw was also very sweet, reminiscent of KFC slaw. 11th place of the 13 we tried in our lobster roll journey through CT this summer.
