However, as the new landlady's daughter-in-law, I had to make the Fiveways pub my second home. In recent years, this pub has seen various employees and owners come and go, but personally, I believe that the newest owner and lady have changed this pub for the better. While they may no longer serve food, the attention to detail from all the staff is impeccable and it's a great spot to enjoy a quiet drink, alcoholic or not. I would recommend everyone to at least make an effort to visit and continue to participate in the spirit of the pub (but socially distant!).
Today I went to catch up with a friend and waited for over 15 minutes to get a drink. The guy behind the bar was busy on his phone, so my friend and I left and went to the next pub.
We saw the advertisement in the local newspaper that The Fiveways had recently changed managers. They are now serving food, so we decided to give it a try. The menu has a good selection of pub food. I had the Chilli covered burger and my wife had a cheese and bacon Hot dog. The meals were lovely, the beer was good, and the service was very friendly. We noticed they have live music regularly so we will be ready for the next music night. I am glad to have a good local pub again, and hopefully the new owners can make a real success of this pub.
What a great pub, happy staff and clean and tidy when all pubs were the same.
Recently dragged into the opposite and love the five-way pub! what a luck that as my local to have the landlords/Lady martin and tess are always so inviting, the staff has smile on the face and could not do more for us than customers when they tried! had my beloved pooch there a few days ago and they could not have been more pet friendly. my bulldog brian and a fresh bowl of water ready for him before we even sit! highly recommended
