Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe owner is mean! She won 't let me try the different kind of food and want me leave! I usually I like to eat here and their food is not bad, I have some problem with my health, that is why I have to choose the food which I can eat. But now she keep saying the food is not good to eat then she won 't serve me! So, I am not eat there anymore. Lindy
I love the food at Holly's but their random take out service- no inside dining has now been three times a redirection to the Thai place across the street. Curious why they don't open for lunch.
I love the Kaiser fish, the green beans w extra seasoning, and the Walnut Prawns. That's my go to. I also tried the lamb for the first time (a friend had it) a while back and it was good.
This place is our go-to Chinese takeout in Oakland. The food is not greasy. Honey Walnut Prawns is our favorite dish, it's subtly crispy and isn't overwhelmed with mayo. Our favorite surprise are the freshly made small sesame red bean balls. It's warm and crispy and we enjoy it on our short ride home. Overall, a very good traditional Chinese restaurant and not overpriced. They are currently only doing takeout but seems like they host private parties. Lastly, staff is very sweet and hospitable.
This is more an fyi heads up than a true review. If you want to dine in, you need to make a reservation. They don't allow walk-ins. So it's mostly a take-out operation now. That's because there is only one person manning (womanning ? the tables. I didn't get her name, but it may have been Holly. She certainly acted like she was Holly. Total owner vibe with very heartfelt suggestions for food, and even recommended a great off-menu vegetable dish--Gao choy (don't know the English with deep-fried tofu custard cubes. It was delicious. Also had the 3 mushroom beef and fish filet (with her recommended eggplant . These were just ok. So food was 3.5 stars, and service and server engagement were 4.5.
