We have been here for a number of years and it was generally pretty good. Ever since the food poisoning incidents, the restaurant had posted on their window that they will do their best at serving customers. Came here with family this past weekend and decided to give it another try. They currently are offering $19.99 for salt and pepper live dungeness crab or lobster if you order over $100, which is an amazing deal since salt and pepper dungeness crab usually is $50+ or $75 if you get it in SF. We got a few dishes to share between 5 people: Crispy garlic chicken 蒜香雞 really good chicken and the skin was nice and crispy, chicken was juicy and not dry, and good garlic flavor. 100% recommend. Braised lamb pot 羊腩煲 it's just okay, tastes a bit bland and not enough fermented tofu flavor, also not served with fermented tofu sauce HK Style Pork Ribs 港色生炒骨 was great, came out hot, crispy, and the sauce is nice and tangy, recommend. Braised tofu with fish paste 琵琶豆腐 really delicious and possibly my favorite dish of the night. Tofu was mixed with fish paste and individually cooked and fried. They also used pea sprouts as the vegetable and the sauce is savory. 100% recommend getting this. Salt and Pepper Live Dungeness Crab 椒鹽大螃蟹 the crab was live and fresh which was a delight since this is a special for $19.99. Batter is a little heavy, but overall a great dish. If you love crab, this is an AMAZING deal since if you buy it from Ranch 99, it's already $11.99/lb. Our crab was about 2.5lb, it was huge and they prepare and cook for you. The restaurant was unfortunately quiet for a Saturday night, but the other tables there were also enjoying this specials and everyone enjoyed the dinner. Food came out hot and fresh. No food poisoning issues after so hoping they are back on the right track. The bill came out to be $135 with tax for a party of 5, a really good deal. Get the crab and lobsters specials while they are still happening!
The food was generally average, with one dish called shredded pork belly chicken, and they seemed to be trying to cover up the original pork belly flavor with the taste of green mustard. But too much was put in and it was so spicy that it was unpalatable. We only had one bite and decided to return the dish, when we were nice enough to communicate with the manager. However, two managers were approached and chose to ignore our request. Won't be back, much less recommend this place to our friends.
So so xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx not much choice around xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Needs to be shut down by the health department Asap. Not sanitary at all. I'd rather eat a mop.
