Avaliação da contribuiçãoPermanently closed ?! We just called the main number to order the classic 28 and received a message saying the business was no longer there. It has also been updated on Facebook as Permanently Closed. My family and I have been coming here for ages (since the early 1990 's) whenever we wanted Pizza in OC. Captain 's, we will miss you and your heart attack inducing deliciousness.
Can I rate this place but give it zero stars!? We ordered from here because they have a huge ad in the local travel book, and a well placed magnet on the fridge of our rented condo. What a joke. Although, I feel like nobody is laughing. I have had a lot of pizzas in my life from the east coast to the west and even in Egypt. This pizza probably would have tasted better if camels made it!!! I have never had a flavorless pizza before, something that tastes like nothing until we ordered 2 large cheese pizzas from this joint. The pizza arrived and I was shocked at how thin the pizza was. They skipped dough with making these and just used the cardboard pieces that provide a divider to keep the pizzas separate in the freezer. My daughters reminded me that we have had plenty of frozen pizzas; and they have all been better than this rubbish. I don't know who provided the reviews for this place, but honestly if you are seriously patronizing this shop every year as a family tradition, your family suck and apparently doesn't get out much! Save your money. Totino's Pizza Rolls would be better than this ****.
I thought $40 for 2 pizzas, wings, salad and fries was a good deal. I would have gotten more value out of a box of used tampons. The salad was passable and the fries were unexceptional. The meatless wings were almost saved by the barbecue sauce. The pizza, however, tasted like a brick of uncooked ramen. It is so offensive to be served pizza that somehow ranks below old school dominoes and the sauceless, doughy mess of a pizza from middle school lunch. Have I been punk'd? Is this reality?
This was hands down the worse pizza I have ever had delivered. Without exaggeration, a frozen pizza would have been far better. The wings were badly overcooked and the sauce was not something I would ever eat again. The salad was fresh and tasty. It took over an hour for delivery, even though they promised 25 minutes. Half of my group went down to 7-11 for food rather than eat the swill the Captain delivered. I can only imagine this place survives by feeding drunk and stoned tourists, because no one in their right mind would eat this stuff. One star for delivery at 2 am.
Going to Captain's on the way to the beach is sort of a tradition in my friend group, ever since the first time we stopped their looking for something new. We always get their 28' pizza, which is amazing. First of all, the thing is so big it ends up needing its own table. We've never actually managed to finish the whole thing in one sitting, despite several attempts to do so. It always works out pretty well, since we have leftovers after a night at Seacrets. The pizza itself is delicious, not gonna lie we all start getting excited about eating there before we've even planned our trip. The pizza isn't super doughy like some places, and the sauce is really good too. I haven't tried the wings myself, but all the guys were raving about them. The servers are always really nice, and we always have good time when we stop in. The best thing is the free delivery though. It's always super fast, and they are open really late. I love that they deliver to the beach too, because sometimes no one wants to have to leave to get food. Totally recommend this place, and definitely go for the 28' pizza. That thing was featured in our facebook profile pics for ages lol.
