Hon Sushi Restuarant - Oceanside

I'm very torn on this review. I lived in the area and ate here often. Recently I went on vacation and was so excited to share this place with my family. It was a must have. My most recent experience didn't go very well, but every experience prior (over 6 years ago) was great. Not sure if anything changed or if it was a weird fluke. The food was still great, but the service not so much. I got my first round of sushi 15 minutes after my family received their meal. I was the only one who did the buffet. My family was done with their meal before I started. Overall I would probably go again if I were in the area as the sushi is still phenomenal.

Excellent super fresh sushi, lots of creative and delicious specialty rolls. The all-you-can-eat option is good for hungry young Marines and other ravenous people. Reasonably priced, good service, and it's been here a long time thing a consistently goodbusiness, which tells you something in an area where there are loads of sushi choices.

They're back...Used to be my go to for all you can eat sushi in Oceanside. But the service and more importantly the quality of food started to suffer. So I was done with Hon. After a few years I decided to give them another shot after a student of minerecommended them saying there was new ownership or management. I'm glad I gave them a chance. After getting stuck in really bad traffic and a nightmare parking problem downtown, we finally drove away and by chance found this place. We were looking for a quiet place to enjoy a sushi dinner at a reasonable price. The decor is pleasant and the food is good. It seems to be a favorite of couples and younger families from the nearby military base. All of the rolls and individual sushi preparations were very nice. We did the all you can eat and stopped at the second round satisfied.
