Avaliação da contribuiçãoWent to Stella’s this evening for an early anniversary dinner. They closed at 8:30 pm, we arrived at 8:00 pm and they continued serving and didn’t try to rush us out. Staff was friendly and food was fantastic! Definitely going to go there again.
Very happy with the service and food quality. Waits can vary on the day or evening you go but worth it.
If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all — Thumper. Wished I could apply this to today’s experience at Stella’s on 25th in Ogden. If you are thinking of dining on Italian cuisine… Stay Away and run to Little Caesars or grab some raviolis that Chef Boyardee made. I loved the ambience Stella’s. Clean, great looking wood floor, fun ceiling and walls, and also liked the ability to see the staff preparing the food. The waiter was attentive and polite; looked to be the same with the rest of the employees. Only one star for the food, and that was for the bread sticks. Expected a dipping sauce of olive oil loaded with herbs. Instead a cup of 50/50 olive oil and balsamic vinegar with a dash of herbs was served instead. This sauce was surprising good; unfortunately this was the only dish that night I could eat. I took one bite of the appetizer Spinach and Artichoke Fonduta. First taste, not good. Tried a second time and gave up. My friend was able to do a little better, but she also gave up and most of the appetizer was sent to the garbage bin. For entrees, I had a pizza (Quatro), she had Portobello Mushroom Raviolis. We shared entrees and yet 80% of the food ended up going to the garbage bin too. The crust of the pizza was great. The middle was soggy. I could not even taste the sauce. One big problem had is that I presumed the four ingredients of the pizza would be spread out over the entire pie equally. Instead the ingredients were piled solely on each quarter of the pie. A slice of pizza with only “pickled” Artichoke? Too much vinegar! Second slice with only olives? I love olives, but this was like ordering an olive pie with a bit of pizza on top! The corners of the crust didn’t match up. I suspect they make four individual pizza’s (Artichoke Hearts, Kalamata Olives, Wild Mushrooms, and Prosciutto), and when a person orders the Quatro, the person gets one quarter of each served on a plate to look like an individual pie. The raviolis were good (had some nice tasty sweet caramelized onions in them); but again I could only eat one bite. There was something wrong with all three dishes we had; I think it was the cheese. I love cheese and feel if this cheese was served as a portion of a plate of hard cheese and brie, it would be great. Did not work at all as a dip or baked on pasta pizza. It had a sour note! If you go to Stella’s, order the Spinach and Artichoke Fonduta ONLY. If you like it, order again, because you may also like the pizza and raviolis’. If the Spinach and Artichoke Fonduta leaves a bad taste in your mouth – RUN.
We absolutely love Stella's. It is our go to for Italian food in ogden. The portions are big. The food is always delicious. We've eaten there a number of times and out of all of our dishes the only thing that didnt quite hit it right was a special' appetizer. But everything is always superb. The staff is attentive without hovering obnoxiously. Its clean. The Stella's sign is eyecatching in the main room or the room off to the side also has a good vibe with rustic brick and a view to downtown ogden. We'd rave about Stella's more but we wouldn't mind keeping it a hidden jewel.
The staff was nice and we liked the ambience of this restaurant but the food was not good. We went on a Monday night so maybe not the regular chef? My salmon was cooked ok but it all was so salty that I almost couldn't eat it. The red peppers on the side were salty and limp. My starting salad was just ok and they brought me the wrong dressing. My husband's steak was tough and also had a weird sauce on it which we could not identify. There also was no charring on the steak. His caprese salad came in a bowl and was very different by including olives with pits. It also was very light on the mozzarella cheese. The mashed potatoes and bread were the best part of the meal. Again, nice staff but we really didn't like the food.
