Cuba Libre Beach - Ohrid

After researching Ohrid before we arrived, Cuba Libre Beach Bar was on our list. Our first weekend we couldn 't wait to visit. The perfect way to spend our Easter Saturday with a lazy lunch at this local hotspot. A beautiful beach bar with spectacular views on Lake Ohrid overlooking the old town and the surrounding mountain ranges. Service was warm and friendly and we enjoyed chatting with our waiter, who was kind enough to give us a cozy lounge by the water. It warmed our hearts when 20 mins in, our lovely waiter Jovan came over and said to us, 'You both have so much positive energy, I just want to tell you that you have made my day '. We were fortunate to find our new favourite Macedonian wine; Tikves Bela Voda, and were equally impressed when it was a vintage from 2013. The most fantastic chardonnay to enjoy in the sunshine and soak up the views. The menu is full of variety, with lots of tasty Cuban cuisine. We couldn 't pass up the Grilled Tortilla with gorgonzola cheese, thank you Jovan for the recommendation you were spot on! The Chicken Croquettes were also a treat. Cocktails were exceptional and kudos to the mixologist, who has obtained his experience from cruise ships and an asset to Cuba Libre. Overall a fantastic venue, lots of seating areas, both indoors and outdoors. The decor is modern and quirky. As the sun sets the candles are lit, making for a very cosy atmosphere. It 's a lovely stroll along the waterfront from Old City, you can enjoy all the wonderful views, local life and nature. Approximately 20 25 mins walk. We are looking forward to our next visit as soon as restaurants are back open for business after a two week closure due to COVID.

Nice place for lunch or apetizer close to lake Ohrid and also the famous Monastery. I could seat in a table in front of the lake and the view is worth it. Amazing place. Reasonable food, normal price and good experience. I would repeat if I came back.

Food and service is average but location and the atmosphere is excellent! Be aware of the parking area, it's not for free, and has SMS payment managed by the municipality (or find the guy otherwise they will put the ticket of 1000MKD to your windshield, silly!

Simply amazing place. Beautiful beach bar, with sun beds, bar with great offer of very quality cocktails, well decorated. The view of the lake and old town is also beautiful. I can say it was my favorite place during my several days stay in beautiful Ohrid. I would always back to this beautiful place.

A trendy spot that attracts people of all ages easily the fanciest place to hire a sunbed in Ohrid. A staff member mentioned people start arriving to claim sunbeds around 9:30, so you'll need to get there early to get a good spot. The staff were friendly and the food was like any other bar in Ohrid.
