Avaliação da contribuiçãoIce street layouts are a joke. When they say that many stains do not take their word. Make em plow you a place where you want. We also had to pay for a road pass, just to park a car in the country for 1 night and they wouldn't blow the car out because it was woken by a plough. I was told? did they? we will not come back. Are you going to Randy?
We drove the ice streets on Mille Lacs through rocky reef. When we left the street, the wind was blown over and we couldn't get out. Jr immediately pushed the street after we called him so we can go. When I tried to give him a few dollars for the fast service, he refused and explained his work. This was the first time someone refused to take a tip to plough. We'll be back and we'll bring a lot of people. Thanks again.
To be fair to the owners, we can only rate Cabin #3. We did not eat in the restaurant or drink at the bar. We rented cabin #3 for two nights and left after the first night. We did not ask for a refund but feel it necessary to let anyone not familiar with these fishing cabins, know what to expect. At best, this was a $60/night cabin. We were charged $275, for the two nights. From the outside, they're cute and the view is truly stunning. We have stayed in many very simple fishing cabins and do not expect 5 star accommodations, HOWEVER, we do expect cleanliness and prefer to have everything to be in working order, especially at that price. Cobwebs big enough to trap hummingbirds, hairs on the stove that didn't work, sticky goo on cabinet doors so thick my hand stuck to it, refrigerator making a loud banging sound every time the compressor would kick on, leftover hairs and other grossness in the shower were the main things that made us check out early. We made the best of it the first night since we had just drove 11 hours to get there...it was shelter with a bed to sleep in. That is all.
My girlfriend and I spent the final weekend of this past walleye season out of Rocky Reef Resort. This was our first time giving them a shot on the lake personally. I remembered fishing with my dad off Indians point a couple times when I was younger and doing very well so I figured with the bite being slow up there lately we?d give it a shot. The bite was slow for the most part just like everyone else was saying however with help of the owner John we were able to get a nice slot walleye witch was also my girlfriends first walleye ever! I?ve been fishing my entire life throughout all of the state and I have yet to have a resort owner be as helpful and welcoming as John and the rest of his staff. We will definitely be back for that alone. Not to mention the ice roads were great, very well upkept and wide, they have a restaurant on shore and there located on the south side of the lake if you are trying to keep close to the city?s like I do a lot of times sense I plow snow in the winter and have to pack up and go sometimes in a very short notice. Great place for the family to get away for awhile! Keep doing your thing man, you guys are killing it!
The couple that own and run this place are super nice! The cabins are always clean and stocked with what you may need. The Bar and Grille there serves excellent burgers! Mille Lacs Lake is right across the road! So you have a beautiful view from any cabin you stay in! I definitely recommend staying here!
