The Cow Cafe And Grill - Oroville

Tried to order off the senior menu. I mentioned to the waitress that we would split the meal. She said she couldn't get us the senior meal because she knew we were going to split the meal. We needed to order off the regular menu if we wanted to split a meal. She also mentioned she was the owners daughter. So we ordered off the regular menu. During our meal she would walk by not stop and make some comments as she passed. I do not feel I need to explain why I wanted to split our meal. Also, I did not notice anywhere on the menu that you could not split any meal/food. However, it was her snarky attitude and poor service that has convinced me not to return to this place. The food was average.

I’m a senior, ordered a cheeseburger/fry. I was going to split with sister myself cuz it was 11am and not much hungry. Was told I can’t do that without paying a split charge. They will split no charge if I buy from regular menu item. That is the most ridicules thing to say to folks of our age group in a place of this caliber. It’s just lil local food joint. Many older folks are on serious fixed incomes and with high prices to enjoy a little comfort from time to time is a rare outing. So I bought the same meal for $2 more, I split it. Left no tip. Please understand I am from out of town, don’t stop here often but we would never come here again. Thinking! Plate charge for splitting a $11 meal, doesn’t sound like the right way to treat folks.

I have eaten at the Cow many times and it was always good. This time it was even better. We were given excellent service and the staff appeared to be very happy and enjoying themselves. It was very comforting. We will go there again.

Overpriced Senior 1/2 BLT and tiny green salad. Lettuce was old and wilted. Sandwich had way too much mayonnaise in it. Chocolate shake was good. Omlett was average but the county fries were under cooked. Food was overpriced based on the quality. We will not come back!

The food was very very good, and the prices were good as well.
