Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe have often eaten here and even taken care of our son's birthday. but at the last weekend the water tastes like earth, the otopus was not edible and the salmon was fish. Not sure what happened, but I don't think we'll be back for a long time.
Went recently on a Saturday night. Busy, but not overly crowded. Seated promptly and the service was attentive. Not quite sure why we were not brought some pita and dips as other tables had them. Anyway, the 2 appetizers were good and we shared moussaka. Also good. I can say that the food was not extraordinary but still very satisfying. The prices are reasonable, especially the dessert. We enjoyed the menu and will return when we need a different ethnic food.
Delicious food and a wonderful hostess. thank you so much!
Walked in and they did not have our 8:15 pm reservation on file from OpenTable. They seated us anyway, so that was fine. Let the waitress know that I had a gluten and dairy allergy (she said, with the exception of one dish, they do not use butter in anything , so we ordered accordingly. We were then notified by a bus girl that they were out of rice (WOW! and we could substitute with any appetizers for our two dishes. We start with substituting for the mussels and then are told that we cannot get mussels; so I guess not any appetizer. Fine. Order a salad and sauteed broccoli. Food comes out, and is good. Cannot say the food is bad. BUT...our waitress comes back to us and sees that we have substituted for the broccoli, and tells me that there is butter in the dish... after eating half the dish. Seriously? She says that the other girl did not know. My thought process that if a patron has an allergy of any kind there should be some indication on the ticket. And when we asked them how they could run out of rice, the waitress told us that we came in so late. Did I mention that the reservation was at 8:15 pm and the restaurant hours are until 10 pm? And did you know that rice is a staple in Turkish cuisine? And who runs out of rice? They comped my glass of wine, to accommodate my next few hours of stomach issues. Would not recommend. PS- the table next to us was walking out on their dinner 5 minutes after we walked in. That should 've been a sign.
Melike’s decor is incredibly warm and inviting, and is one of my favorite restaurants. I have dined here on several occasions, and keep coming back for more. . They have the best hummus and zucchini pancakes in the world. The other night I had their vegetarian lentil soup which was out of this world. I was there on a Saturday night with my partner and another couple. It was a very relaxing and service excellent, although the restaurant was completely filled. Service is usually excellent, with very pleasant staff..I also went this past Friday night, and had a different experience than usual! The restaurant was filled, but the service was extremely rushed, Staff was constantly coming over to clear our plates before we were finished and constantly coming over to ask if we were ready to order. The lovely waitress we had said that she was a friend filling in at the owner’s request. She was very sweet, but made us feel very rushed and uncomfortable. In addition, all of a sudden music was tuned on very loud, to the point that we couldn’t hear one another talk, and a belly dancer came out. Honestly, it was was not very enjoyable because of the loud music and the small size of the restaurant, When she passed by our table, her costume was almost in our food! Not a great evening at all. However, this was my first bad experience out of so many enjoyable one’s here. Will still return and hopefully management will read this review and make changes! Thank you Melike for being part of Ossining and being my go to eating place!
