China Star - Ottawa

Well the food was actually good but the rude lady that answers the phone and packs the food killed the enjoyment out of the entire process. And it is expensive.Don’t mind paying money for quality food , but when a hand written scribbled total owed is thrown at me and I questioned the amont , she just yelled at me. I requested she punch it in the cash register beside her so I could verify it was accurate she all of a sudden couldn’t speak English. Well lady , if your not paying tax as a business , then I shouldn’t be paying you tax. Should have used a credit card so they would have to claim it. Lesson learned. Will not return.

Wow tasty! Order the shrimps with spicy sauce and you won’t regret it! Very nice quantity of shrimps too. Their fried chicken wings are great as well. The lady at the counter was very friendly and had a welcoming smile even when they were about to close. The chef working in the kitchen gave me a wave and hello too. Good people, good place. Highly recommend.

These two dishes we ordered today were delicious with huge portions!Keep up the good work,my China star!

Very disappointed small portions no flavor at all I order two of the same and one different didn't know till after I got home and saw that they were on the lunch menu instead of charging me for the lunch price specials for all three items which I wasn't asked if I wanted the lunch special I got hit up for full price of the regular menu we used get take out from there all the time it was good and loved their food but now not sure if I will go back there again

Portion sizes for the combos are great, no complaints.However, I ordered the yang chow fried rice and I was very disappointed. Firstly, it was like they just took their regular fried rice and added the other ingredients, I've never seen yang chow fried rice this colour. Secondly, there were only 3 pieces of shrimp throughout the entire dish. The fork is there because I went digging hoping I’d find more... I didn't ??They have a higher price point than a lot of other Chinese restaurants, so I was disappointed to only get 3 pieces of shrimp in a plate that cost $13+They could also work on their customer service.Despite all that, they are one of the better Chinese food spots I've tasted in Ottawa.
