Fairouz - Ottawa

This was hands down the best meal and fine dining experience I have ever had in Ottawa. From the first bite to the last, everything was absolutely delicious and wonderful. We will definitely be returning.

I was very eager to try this restaurant since it was listed as one of the best in Canada. I decided to come after work on a weekday, just after dinner time.

Went for a special occasion dinner. Food was fabulous. very unique! Service perfect, very knowledgeable staff. Only issue being a little noisy.

The restaurant is located in an old house and the interior is nicely appointed. The service could not have been better and I enjoyed the food, which was different than a lot of middle eastern food I have had. For starters I had the Muhammara dip, which is a hot pepper dip with cashews and pomegranate. For the main course I had the grilled and stuffed whole trout which was perfectly cooked. The wine list by the glass was adequate, if not exceptional.

We were there tonight. It was a little hard to get reservations for the time we wanted, I guess because it is a popular place. So we went a little earlier than ideal but the restaurant was bustling, so that was great. We loved the food and the whole experience. We shared the Muhammara dip appetizer with fresh baked pita( awesome) then the batirik bulgur conte and then the grilled and stuffed golden trout. Everything was exquisite and flavourful, cooked to perfection. Attentive service made it a spectacular evening.
