Lemon Grass Thai Cuisine - Ottawa

Very underrated place, most of the bad reviews are from people who care about a certain style of service, not the food.Describable more as elevated Thai fusion than typical street Thai, ingredient quality here is high with generous portioning of the expensive bits, eg the meat, in most dishes.Honestly the first time I went I tried that pad thai and didn 't love it because it was in a kind of safe, westernized style. However the ingredient/component quality seemed higher than any place in Toronto where Thai is a huge market. Out of respect I asked the owner about it and we understood each other pretty fast, so they suggested some other stuff.Went back with my wife and we were both super impressed. Whether you want something safe and not spicy, or you want the real deal, they have good options.As Thai food junkies our favorites here are the spicy fish curry and the pad kee mao. Pad Thai and some of the non spicy curry options are very good for those who are lightweights.

Ordered takeaway via Uber eats. The bill was over $70. We thought we were getting enough food for two adults. Ordered two meals plus appetizers. Not happy at all with what arrived. Food portions were so small it was barely enough to feed one person. Sticky rice was dried out and about a 1/4 cup in total. The cost for the rice was $4 plus tax The green curry was supposed to have extra chicken and extra veg, at an extra charge. I got charged for the extra but I don’t think they added extra anything. Portion size was tiny. Food was average at best. I phoned to make a complaint and never heard back from management. Disgraceful

We ordered chicken pad thai, which was too sweet. Chicken pad kee mao, which was too spicy. We came around 9PM as the restaurant timing was till 9.30PM but we are told that we cannot dine in. Food quantity is less as per price. Customer service is not good.

Incredible food!!! Such good quality and such flavour! Only weird thing was how quiet it was, no music playing or anything, it really needs something for atmosphere. But that's a very minor thing and easily remedied.

I visited this restaurant for the second time. I love this food.
