Cafe Mezzanine at the Centre Pompidou

I hate being the one to leave a bad review but even after trying to get my problem resolved twice I just feel like it's necessary to voice my experience

Star - fair price. Star - descent rice to fish ratio. Star - nice staff. Star - nice interior design of the restaurant. No star - seaweed salad not included

One of the worst sushi places I've ever beenService was a 3 starFood was just bad.

There are much better restaurants than this, easily found, in Paris. I'd search for those and actively avoid this unless you want to go just for the view. It's expensive. Food is mediocre unless you've spent your life eating out of a bin. It's populated by young, inexperienced things, swanning around as if they've just come off a catwalk, with no evident skills other than swanning around and being talentless. Even though service is included we got harangued for a tip by our waiter who said the service which was included was not for him; difficult to know who else it was for! At least he gave us a nice smile when trying it on with this line! And to top it all expect to be stopped on the way out and asked for evidence that you've paid your bill. I can't imagine that many thieves frequent somewhere this expensive. And now for the positives (nothing to do with the restaurant so you can visit the top of the Pompidou for these without spending a bean)....it's in Paris; the views (worthwhile if you're watching the fireworks on Bastille day) the architecture. This venue needs some reaction so the owner starts to make it what it could be and what you expect for the location and price.

What can I say about this place where the staff is so arrogant and the food is so lousy that you can't understand why anyone would go there? Well, it wasn't my choice, as I was in a business group and the reservation was previously arranged. But the steak tartare was an offense to the poor cow who died for us to eat, the mashed potatoes with beef were so terrible anything out of a package would taste better (and zero greens on the plate - where's the salad, the vegetables, anything please?) and the petit gateau was the worst - it tasted like olives (yes, olives!) and was uneatable. And if you can't serve a decent expresso, why do you call it expresso? I have no idea how much they paid for this menu but I wouldn't rate it 5€. Plus the ambiance was so terrible people couldn't hear each other because of other guests and the super loud music. I can't even recommend it for the views because the windows were so dirty it wasn't worth it.
