The Indiana Cafe on Place de la Bastille is one of numerous outlets of this cafe chain in Paris. It specialises in American Mexican fare, and proved to be an acceptable and adequate place for a light lunch on a hot Sunday afternoon in...Paris. The extensive menu contains all the classics you would find in this style of cafe in the US: salads, club sandwiches, burgers, grills, the traditional Mexican dishes (Tacos, Enchiladas, Burritos, Fajitas etc), ribs, and chicken wings, as well as the usual American desserts such as brownies, cheesecake, cookies and banana splits! There are a number of vegetarian options on the menu, and I'm sure the various contents of dishes could be easily modified to suit vegans. The restaurant is large, with a huge inside area as well as outside seating under trees and umbrellas. We sat outside so we could watch the activities in Place de la Bastille. Service was prompt and efficient, and an English-speaking waitress was brought to service us to overcome the language barrier. A nice touch. We ordered burgers the American, and the Blue Cheese Burger. The burgers were large, and cooked as requested. The Blue Cheese dressing was tasty and fresh, and the accompanying fries were also very good. We enjoyed our lunch. It's not French by any means, but it was very popular with locals and tourists. It served its purpose to us very well. It's also very moderately priced; the burgers were around €13.00 each. I'd eat there again!
I can't comment on eating because we haven't eaten. However, the heated terrace was great, not all seats were very warm and not all heating worked, but we got a table that was warm. the drinks were good, not too expensive. service was also good.
I wait for a beer and snacks and wait for my son. enjoyed the late afternoon sun outside. the beer was big and cold and the queen was small and expensive. the personal was friendly and attentive.
We were a little rushed on time one day so decided to stop here for lunch because of their large outdoor seating area. The restaurant's focus is Tex-Mex. My husband had the chicken enchilada and enjoyed it. I had the fish sandwich and fries. It...was good as well. Our total for lunch was 38 Euros for two entrees, a coke, and a glass wine.
The food was plenty, but the presentation not very good. Meat over...over cooked and dry. Rice was left to stay hot in the oven was hard and dried, uneatable.
