We ended up here by chance because we were looking for one of the venues listed for the Fete de la Musique that offered rap & hip hop. Unfortunately, we did not find that spot; however, as we were walking down the street, we heard a thumping beat and followed the sound to Los Franchutes. There, we found a young French kid spinning "deep house" music. And of course, being from Chicago, I was in heaven!!! Once inside, we decided to have some cocktails because it was so very hot outside, but it was even hotter in the bar, as they did not have air conditioning and there was only a small fan located at the front door. I don't remember what we ordered, but they were tasty. For the second round, I noticed that the bar had my favorite liquors (Hendricks gin, St. Germain, and Domain de Canton); so I asked if the bartender if he could fix me a drink called "Two Angry Brothers", which is based on the legend that the owners of St. Germain and Domain de Canton liqueurs are feuding brothers. Based on my sketchy memory of the ingredients, he made it perfectly (if not a bit strong!). He asked if he could taste it and said he would consider adding it to their menu. We met quite the characters that night, who appeared to be regulars, as we found their photos in the montage taped to the ceiling. All in all, I would say this is a cool place for meeting up with friends for drinks. The bar itself was kind of small and no real sense of decor. The bathroom was decent, which is always an issue for me!
A very good address to take glasses and share some empanadas. the atmosphere is the and reasonable prices for this neighborhood address.
Passed one Saturday afternoon with some friends for a drink! Ended up staying the the rest of the evening tasting their cocktail menu! Empanadas delicious! Really friendly service! Can't wait to go back!
A small corner of South America in the heart of the 11th century. nico and lucas bosses are adorable, empanadas made with love and cocktails to fall! I recommend it warmly!
