Reef's is a restaurant not to miss. It is a nicely cosy and comfortable environment inside, with lovely outdoor seating as an option in the summer. It's very quiet and service is high quality at a calm pace. The food is wonderfully Mediterranean with many other influences making their mark on a variety of special and subtle dishes. The owner seems to be always present and keeping a careful eye on everything, from the kitchen to the front of house. We make a visit every time we're in town.
I hate to say it, but we didn't order that much food...and it was all fabulous! I was a little taken aback by the small menu, but when everything is done to perfection, it doesn't need to be longer! I had the Eggplant Mousakka which was to die for. I can't tell you how good it was! If you like vegetables and a light dish (which I'm used to mousakka being heavy), this was perfect! My husband went for the chicken schnitzel which for a basic, simple dish like schnitzel was excellent. We had a wonderful dessert as well. Wine by the glass was simple, but good.
After reading all the positive reviews, I was expecting a better experience. The ambience is ok. Has a nice fireplace, but just seems like an odd room in a hotel. The service is good. The food is very different from any other middle eastern meals we’ve had. The beet salad is mainly arugula, with some beet spirals on top. The moussaka is overly smokey. It ruined the meal. The salmon seemed ok. It’s in a sauce with a lot of heat. No vegetables are served with the entrees. Very dull looking presentation. We probably will not return for another meal there.
Family run business. Food was fresh and delicious highly recommended to anyone.
