Farmhouse surrounded by greenery easily reachable, very characteristic. Delicious dinner and attentive and punctual service. We strongly advise you to experiment with it.
First of all, check your maps and ensure you know how to find this place as can be a bit difficult (especially in the dark to locate. Secondly, if going for dinner, probably best to make a reservation as very popular; we made a reservation for a Weds night and every table (100 seats appeared to be reserved. Thirdly, do not eat breakfast if going for lunch or lunch if going for dinner as you have an eating challenge ahead of you!! Very nice atmosphere with a clean and welcoming environment. Now the food we ordered antipasti and 12 dishes arrived.Set menu so a surprise as to what will come. So much food! We were a family of 4 (dad, mum, and children 10 and 13 and ordered for 3 as thought that appropriate for the family size. Did not realise due to language difficulties but we had also ordered main courses of pasta and meats. The antipasti was incredible! All dishes distinctive and clearly home made and much more than anticipated (we thought the first 3 dishes was it and could not believe the 9 further dishes that followed! . Delicious range of flavours and intensities. Can 't recommend an individual dish as all delicious. Nicola, the owner, was very helpful explaining the dishes which were served (he claimed he did not speak English well but he spoke very well! and was attentive to us as the only non Italian, we believe, guests (the best indicator of quality, in our view, is where are the locals eating and clearly the locals highly rate Casa del Priore . We were so full from the antipasti that we could manage only a small taste of the main courses but we were able to take the main courses home with us for a delicious lunch the next day. We returned for lunch when we only had the antipasti and again we were absolutely stuffed! We did some research and found that the food we had was true Sicilian rather than simply being Italian . We will try to recreate some of the foods at home but suspect we will have difficulty matching the quality. Highly recommend! Delicious!! Very reasonable pricing.
After a somewhat strenuous drive we reached the restaurant. We were greeted by a charming Sicilian woman who asked if we would like some antipasta. We nodded and said sure and then course after course was carried to our table. There were so many courses that I can not even remember all of them. All I remember is that they all tasted fantastic and that I became very full very quickly. The atmosphere itself is perhaps not the most picturesque, we sat a large patio where there were also two big-screen TVs showing the news. Still, the food and the service more than made up for this. It was easily the best restaurant we visited during our week in Patti. Amazingly the entire dinner, including 15 courses of antipasti for 7 people, 1 plate of meat to share and desserts for 5 people, only cost 105 euros. Don't miss this resataurant if you are in the area. You will not regret it.
I consulted Trip Advisor before placing my booking at this place and indeed what we were looking for A tranquel, serene, country side logging with the friendliest of people to welcome you and offer all the support you may reuire. We arrived late afternoon with our own car travelling from Malta by ferry to Sicily. I had read on Trip Advisor that it may be difficult to find the place but once recorded on our GPS, we were directed without any difficulty and upon approaching we also followed the signs. No hassle whatsoever. The owner Nicloa welcomed us and showed us to our rooms (2). Soon after we settled in, we went to the restaurant to eat as we had got hungry after a full day travelling. We sat down around 18.00hrs and they usually open at 19.30hrs for dinner. Nicola did not comment about us being early for dinner, he simp[ly went in the kitchen and after ten minutes, served us the antipasti. A great selection of typical Sicilian quisine. This was followed by pasta and main course, sessert, two bottles of lovely Sicilian wine and liquer. Constantly making sure that we are enjoying ourselves and the food. Very courteous, very caring. In between courses we met Nicola's sister Tina, their mother who is over seventy years old and still caring in the kitchen and thier father who does most of the farming on site. It is enough to say that this property encompasses 400 olive trees. Nicola gave us information ablut places to visit in the viscinity. The mountains and the countryside are most beautiful and if you like driving, it is quite challanging to drive round the mountain roads. I asked Nicola if we could have fish one night and he said yes and asked whether we just want the main course or all plates of fish. My reply was fish throughout. They catered specificilly for our request and on our last night we had different fish antipasti 9about five diffenent ones), seafood pasta and stuffed calamari for main course.. The price of food here is ridiculous compared to what we are used to paying in Malta and the quality is so genuine and fresh you can not imagine. We spent four nights and were preparing to leave on Saturday morning when my car decided not to start. Quickly Tina called a mechanic nearby and he came in fifteen minutes with his computer, checked the car computer system, diagnosed the fault and were on the way in no time. I have not enough words to say thank you to these people who gave me and my family a great time, great food and above all the best support one could hope for. I recommend this place to everyone.
