Great food and service. it's been a few years since we last visited and we found up to 217 still very good. as a bistro restaurant, the dishes are numerous ingredients and slender gourmet. my friend had the pear salad and the Pan-Seared lobster, shrimp scallops with healthy tomato, and scalions in parmesan béchamel over fattyuccine. I had the french wobbles soup and aubergine cat chest local garnel, scallops, groupers in basil pamesan sauce over fried aubergine. I enjoyed the aubergine cheese, which consisted of local garnels, scallops and groupers in a basil-Pamesan cream sauce over fried aubergine. everything was excellent, except the french wobbly soup that contained a bit too much bread for my taste. the portions were generous. the service was excellent and prompt. once we sit on the table, a broth basket was placed. our server, carry, was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and professional. she has regularly checked to be sure we enjoy our meal, despite a few big party tables. the restaurant was easy on the expensive side, but the value was good in consideration of the quality and amount of food. In a counter with so many restaurants the bistro 217 stands for good eating. we look forward to a return visit. if it weren't for the wobble soup and the noise level, I would have given this restaurant a perfect rating.
Four of us stopped in for lunch. Sat outside on covered patio. We all had salads. The special was fish served on salad, and both ladies enjoyed their choice. The Hawaiian salad was a real treat excellent! Good service!
When I travel for work, I almost always sit at the bar to have my dinner. There usually is some camaraderie and friendly interaction, which is nice for a single traveler. Not tonight, not at Bistro 217. Patrons were not friendly, bartenders were not friendly. I always come here to eat when I am in Georgetown, and I found the food to be somewhat lower in quality. The Korean Chicken was very sweet, the pimento cheese with the bread basket was tasteless and the rolls were really stale. The wine list, as always, was very good. It was a disappointing visit.
The menu and food was absolutely excellent as was the service. Could not and did not expect anything more. However, the noise level ruined what would have been a wonderful experience. The staff dashing all around plus the bar chaos was too much. We will return to The Rustic Table. The sister restaurant next door. Eat outside and the atmosphere is nice.
