Puerto Mar - Peníscola

This place is guilty of shamelessly ripping off any tourists it thinks it can get away with. We had 3 Gambas and they charged 46 euros! That is over 15 euros per prawn. Absolutely ridiculous and very hard to contest as the menu just said market price. I can guarantee the market price is not €15 per prawn, as i bought half a dozen of the same Gamba’s at the supermarket the day before. It’s a shame as we had enjoyed a good meal, with good seafood tapas. When i raised my disbelief at the bill, they just shrugged. Avoid!!

Great view of the harbour and the fish was cooked perfectly. Service was ok but the waiter doesn’t make you feel welcome. It feels more like serving you is added work that’s not wanted. The restaurant is expensive which was fine but I do begrudge paying €6 for a tiny plate of undercooked frozen chips.

Fantastic no nonsense dockside restaurant with perfectly cooked fresh and quality seafood served with a view. Enjoy wild caught razor clams cooked in a simple herb butter sauce, fresh plancha grilled baby octopuses, unique to peniscola clams, blanched fresh tender mussels, delicious crispy local oysters and simply grilled fresh fish whilst enjoying the view of the playa sur beach. I couldn't emphasize on the freshness and quality of seafood that you can get here any more and you are definitely getting your money's worth. Portions are decent and seafood are sold by weight. It is to note that this is the great place to taste seafood as it is, cooked simply with minimal culinary modifications. Indeed, the prices are on the high side for the locale, but as a passing visit, it is not overly ridiculous till it's a scam or a tourist trap. Definitely worth the visit and revisit as the freshness and quality is second to none.

Exquisite treatment and high quality food fresh out of the sea. refrain from the lovers of junk food and from which you do not know to distinguish a fresh fish and taken from the boat from which you are sold in any supermarket, of probable origin from outside the greece. for that, you have other places. go, eat and compare

Just spectacular. There is no better place and place to eat fish in peñiscola.
