Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe had lunch here whilst on holiday. They serve the plate of the day which means you get what happens to be on the menu that day. The service was excellent and friendly. The quality of the food was really good and it was the kind of French experience we were after. Value was excellent with 3 courses and a coffee and a pichet of wine for 15euro. Highly recommend
Parfait! We are staying locally and thought we would give it a try. It is just perfect. We paid about 60€ for 4 of us- including drinks. Service was prompt and friendly. We were served starter, main course, cheese, dessert and coffee. All were great. It’s in walking distance for us but well worth a detour if you are in the area. We leave in a week so time for another visit too. Highly recommended. Merci Beaucoup!
Driving back to Lyon from the Biarritz area, we were near this region and it was lunchtime. 7 minutes off the highway, into a charming village with a church “parish of the three hermits”. It felt like we had stepped into a book by Peter Mayle. I had read reviews here, knew that there were children’s menus (9€ , and saw a highchair in the very very clean toilet. At a table already set with bread and wine (table wine, 4€ a big jug , paper placemats with games and quizzes occupied kids and adults before the wonderful meal arrived. And arrived it did, and it kept coming! Very quickly, we were served an amazing chestnut soup, even teenager took two bowls, we wheedled and pleaded for its recipe, to no avail. Then a platter of cured ham and sausages and pickles, then duck with a red fruit sauce, then a cheese selection with a tureen of goat’s cheese in olive oil and herbs, and a bowl of cottage cheese from “an elderly lady who keeps a cow and makes her own cheese, my husband (the chef seasoned it with garlic and herbs”. My only quibble is that I would have preferred a duck served rare or pink and here it was well done. But everything was “très correct”. Then dessert. Baba au rhum or flan? Hubby declared his flan reminded him of grandma (who is a great cook , and my baba au rhum led to much fantasy plotting on how to get its recipe on top of the one for the chestnut soup. The lady-wife of chef is kind and cheerful, there were painters speaking Portuguese in the next table, it’s a prix fixed menu at 13€ (wine and coffee not included . It will also be a story I may write up one day!
