Avaliação da contribuiçãoOur group of four arrived to this new restaurant in our neighbourhood, happy to see that the place was almost full and exuding a good atmosphere. We had reserved a table but were able to choose from the few tables still available. Unfortunately we sat for ten full minutes before we were given menus and a carafe of water and asked about drinks. We all agreed that the menu was disappointing as the selection of about six entrées and six mains seemed very ordinary. Two of us chose the 'Antipasti plate ', one chose the 'Linguini with scallops and gambas ' (very large prawns) and another chose the 'Aged entrecôte with frites and salad '. The meals arrived fairly quickly and we were all surprised by the Antipasti (see photo), as the very large plate was a weird combination of sliced meats, cheese, caper berries and garden salad all mixed together with what looked like dukkah (mix of seeds and chopped nuts) around the edge of the plate. The Linguini was served quite elegantly in a bowl, but lacking a side plate to put the shell of the prawns onto, as the two gambas needed to be peeled. We asked for a side plate and it was brought promptly. The two scallops were fat and perfectly cooked, while the pasta was simple but delicious in a creamy tomato sauce. The entrecôte was å point (on point, medium rare) and tasty with a small bowl of really good gravy/onion sauce. The frites/chips were tasty but quite oily, and the salad was tasty with a nice vinaigrette, but contained too many tomatoes and not enough green leaves in our opinion. I must add that we were all aghast at the very poor quality bread! It is the worst we have ever had in France (and we have lived here for four years). Soft, flavourless and surprising since we 'd heard that the establishment is run by a local boulangerie! We selected a local red wine from Chateau Pigoudet, a Premier rouge it was absolutely delicious and, at €8.90 was extremely well priced. We expected a wine list but discovered that one has to choose a bottle from the display on the wall a little awkward as you have to squeeze past the tables and other guests to get to the wall. Once we finished eating, I 'm sorry to report that we sat for a good 15 minutes with our empty plates in front of us before a waiter came and removed them! I had waved twice at a waitress but, while she smiled back at me, she did not leave what she was doing to attend to our table, nor did she send a waiter our way. By this time we were amongst the last guests in the restaurant and staff seemed occupied with cleaning up. We had contemplated ordering dessert, but the opportunity passed so we simply ordered coffee for two of us. The coffees were very average quality. The decor is inviting and the tables and chairs comfortable, plus the food, while not exciting, all seemed to be well prepared. There is also a large deli section selling a large variety of local produce such as charcuterie (cold meats) and cheeses, as well as wine and other small goods. However this restaurant was let down terribly by the poor service. We all agreed that the staff had no finesse at all and, when the hubbub of curiosity subsides they will need to develop better attention to detail and to their customers if this place is to succeed.
We drove passed a few times and we thought it looked too posh for us but we decided to go. I am so glad we did. The people were lovely and really helpful. The meal was perfect and it was just so nice and it was great value. I told everyone at the b&b breakfast to go because it was so good. I recommend you book because the restaurant was nearly full.
A very nice and surprising place. A little gem among feelds of Provance.Nice food and à very very good vine. Not expensive at all. Good large portions for people Who loves to eat... Beautiful interiors with nice people Who run this place. .... one suggestion. .. your food deserves à better bread. .. for real.
For my part c is the lamb mouse that wins the palm with its crushed pdt and sauce, but the Jacques sts and gambas are excellent as well, only bemol for the cold served but good cream, the team is pleasant.
Nice address with very friendly staff. Discover a large selection of products to take to a sweet and salty grocery store and a very beautiful wine, champagne and spirits card. I highly recommend
