Overall, though, the experience was wonderful. We struggled a bit with the TV and the room phones, ultimately relying on our cellphones to contact reception. Unfortunately, we discovered there was no coffee creamer left for us. On the positive side, it was nice to have glass wine glasses and real coffee mugs, which we really appreciated. Having a wine bottle opener available was also convenient since we had forgotten to bring one. Just a tip: make sure to bring all your coffee supplies with you upon arrival, as they don’t replenish due to COVID restrictions. It was a bit disappointing to find no coffee creamer at 6:30 AM. I would also recommend inquiring about how to use the TV during check-in, as we never managed to figure it out. While not having TV didn’t ruin our stay since we enjoyed the hot tub, soaker tub, and games, we did hope to watch a movie in bed one night but felt it was too late to contact reception for help, as only security was available at that hour. The sit-down breakfast was quite enjoyable, but do prepare for more of a diner-style experience. The staff were fun and lively, but the service was definitely not fine dining. They dressed the tables while you stood there, and drinks sometimes arrived at random; I received juice while my husband was left waiting for his. It was all a bit comical! The coffee and breakfast items were mostly cold, and the eggs were overcooked, but we still appreciated the full-service experience and the lighthearted moments. Some guests seemed to expect a more upscale service, but we had plenty of laughs and overall enjoyed it. Dinner, on the other hand, was much more polished, and the food was sensational. It was also a pleasure to walk into town. On our first night, we strolled to Black Prince Winery, where we enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine and fire-baked pizza on the vine-covered patio. All in all, every aspect of the visit was unique and charming, and we were thrilled with our choice to book here.
Jeremy made our experience even more special with his exceptional service. He went above and beyond with his recommendations for drinks and food, handling multiple tables with a cheerful and efficient demeanor. Breakfast was decent, considering the limited options due to staff shortages. However, Heather was wonderful—very friendly and patient with our many requests for extra milk, tea, coffee, and so on.
I stayed here for one night. While the room decor was a bit outdated, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The food in the Dining Room Pub was good. The staff were friendly and worked hard, even though they were understaffed. The garden patio was beautiful, but unfortunately it was closed due to a lack of serving staff.
