The Cup Saucer Diner - Pine Bush

This classic diner has a retro vibe and offers a straightforward menu of basic diner fare. While it's not exceptional, it's not terrible either, and the exterior has a charming appeal. The servers worked hard despite being understaffed, which was admirable. The food was decent for what you'd expect from a diner. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, and I'd consider returning.

The staff at this restaurant are incredibly attentive and exceed expectations when it comes to service. The coffee was excellent and served with a side of milk, just as I requested—something many places charge extra for. I never felt rushed to leave my table, and they consistently made sure I had plenty of fresh coffee. The waffles were light and delicious, topped with fresh strawberries rather than syrup.

Things went south the moment we walked in and asked for a table. The woman at the front desk looked utterly confused and annoyed at the prospect of finding us a spot, even though there were only two tables occupied— the place was practically empty. She shouted at a waitress, and both of them seemed to act like seating us was a complex challenge, akin to solving Einstein's theory of relativity. When we were finally seated, nothing felt straightforward. They were out of one of the items we ordered, and when we asked for a moment to choose something else, it seemed to be a major inconvenience. My sister and I couldn’t help but laugh at how bizarre the situation had become. Then the food arrived, and my omelette was honestly disgusting. The cheese wasn’t melted, and the home fries were soggy and brown—totally unappetizing and gross. It goes without saying that this was the last time I’ll ever eat at this diner. It’s really disappointing because it used to be fantastic, and I genuinely looked forward to dining there during my visits. Not anymore.

Good food, Excellent friendly service, with a touch of retro vintage. We were a big group went into the restaurant near closing time and the staff took good care of us despite the fact there was only waitress left for her shift plus one cook in thekitchen. I ordered prime steak with garlic butter that comes with soup or salad. Good portion size, beef was tender. Some peoplefrom our group went back the next day but this time we called ahead to give them a heads up.
