I booked the hotel with high hopes, but unfortunately, it turned out to be an utterly horrible experience. From the moment we arrived, it became evident that this place was far from what we had expected. To start, the owner's behavior was shocking and completely unacceptable. He was constantly drinking, which led to inappropriate and aggressive behavior towards both children and dogs. As a family with three small kids and a furry companion, we felt incredibly uncomfortable and unsafe during our entire stay. Witnessing such behavior was not only disturbing but also dangerous for all guests, especially the little ones. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was its restaurant, as it was advertised on their website. However, to our dismay, the restaurant was inexplicably closed without any prior notice. This lack of communication left us stranded and unprepared, struggling to find suitable dining options for our family. It was an added inconvenience that we did not need, particularly when traveling with young children. Moreover, when we found the hotel's restaurant closed, we decided to make the best of the situation by purchasing some fruits to feed our hungry kids. As we were about to enjoy a small picnic with three peaches, the owner noticed and began shouting at us, forbidding us from doing so. His reaction was completely disproportionate and absurd, given the harmless nature of our actions. It was bewildering to witness such an overreaction, especially when we were left with no other dining options. On top of everything, the owner's strange and unwelcoming demeanor only added to our discomfort. He seemed disinterested in addressing our concerns and complaints, showing little regard for his guests' well-being. It was evident that customer satisfaction was not a priority for him, and that left us feeling neglected and disrespected. Needless to say, we will never consider returning to La Mandarine. Our experience was beyond disappointing, and we wouldn't wish it upon anyone. As travelers, we believe that hospitality, safety, and transparency are crucial aspects of a hotel's reputation. Unfortunately, this establishment failed on all fronts. I urge potential guests to think twice before booking this hotel, especially if you have children or pets. The experience we had was nothing short of a nightmare, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same distress and discomfort. It's essential for hotels to uphold their responsibilities to guests and create an environment that fosters comfort and well-being. Regrettably, Hotel La Mandarine fell woefully short of meeting these basic expectations.
