Los Tortugo's Seafood Market

We ate at this restaurant because we wanted seafood and a local said the place was informal but great food reasonably priced. We had great service from Abby, every food we ate was delicious and cooked perfectly. Portions were quite large and we took enough home for supper. The complimentary chips were made on site, fresh, and as tasty as any we have ever eaten. The seafood soup appetizer was delicious. My wife is not as enthusiastic about sea food as I am and even she loved the soup. I had a seafood platter of calamari and grilled flounder. Both were very tasty. She had a shrimp platter which came with a good number of large shrimp. She had them grilled and they were fantastic. For her sides she chose hush puppies and cole slaw. Both were great. Tastes in cole slaw vary greatly but this recipe was just how we like it. Abby was friendly, professional, and patient with all of our flatlander questions. She was very busy but still took good care of us. In addition to Abby, all employees we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The manager even stopped by our table to ask if we needed anything. In addition to the regular menu items, customers are welcome to choose anything from the seafood store and have it prepared for them. If you went out and caught your own they will also prepare that for you.

We had dinner here tonight for the first time! So delicious! We loved the chips the broth soup! The calamari was delightful! Our meals very yummy!I had fish tostado and my husband oyster po boy. We will be back!

We went to Los Tortugos as it is one of our favorites when on SPI. While the food was excellent as usual, the service tonight was terrible. We have never experienced that before at this restaurant. While we were seated immediately upon arriving, they were busy and almost all the tables were filled. One person brought us the menus right away. In a few minutes someone else came to ask us about drinks. After some time, another person stopped by and asked if someone had taken our drink order. And, lastly after some time our server came to take our order. We ordered our food and it came in a reasonable amount of time. Then came the chips and soup after we got our food. My husband ordered shrimp and got fish. No, we did not complain,,,,at that point we just didn’t want to rock the boat any more. We sat for some time after we were done eating and finally had to motion to someone to come over in order to get take home boxes. We were terribly disappointed in our dining experience tonight. I’m not sure if we will give it another try or not.

Friendly service in a laid back atmosphere. I had a seafood combo plate with fish, shrimp and calamari- it was delicious. It wasn't greasy or heavy at all. Best thing of all, dinner for my family of 5 was just above $70. Definitely a great value for the price!!

Never disappointed here always clean, friendly with great food and service. We took each other out to lunch to get our seafood fix at Los Tortugo’s. Shared fish poor boy, couple side salads, couple cups of complimentary soup tortilla chips along with fresh oysters. Omgoodness Quadruple Yummo Yummo!!! Oysters so fresh. Shrimp poor boy very fresh and amazingly delicious ?
