Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe ordered the $30 omakase and it came with 11 pieces of sushi, miso soup and a cone sushi. Great value and great sushi. The fish was fresh and the chef was very sweet and happy to all his customers. Cute little mom and pop shop that has a lot more to offer than you'd expect.<br/ <br/ Call to reserve for a spot at the bar where you can watch the chef prepare the sushi.<br/ <br/ Full review of the omakase with photos on my blog.
We came for the omakase and it did not disappoint! This little place is run by a husband and wife team that truly make it feel like home. If you want the full experience, make sure to call and reserve a spot up at the sushi bar so that you can be served the set piece by piece. We did not do this and sat at a table. We ordered a chicken karaage as well that was well cooked and delicious!
We had lunch at this place on Family Day, the 12th Feb 2018. This is a family run restaurant and we thought it is a great day to try this place. We were six of us and we enjoyed their food. Authentic Japanese cuisine, reasonably priced and good variety of dishes.
By now, I’m sure many of you Vancouverites have heard of Matsuzushi, a Japanase mom and pop establishment located in Port Moody best known for their affordable omakase. Omakase is a Japanese phrase that translates to ‘I’ll leave it up to you’ where patrons entrust the chef to serve the best he has to offer according to what’s available.
The nigiri was served piece by piece, directly from the chef to our plates. Honestly, I wasn't always sure what I was eating, but the fish was incredibly fresh and delicious. Some pieces were seared, while others had a touch of sauce. The final dish we received was the negitoro cone. The only issue I had was that they served pink ginger instead of the usual yellow variety, but this was a minor detail compared to the fantastic food. I would definitely return for another meal at this restaurant.
