Avaliação da contribuiçãoWhat a bummer. We've been coming to Thai Orchid forever. We have family out of town who look forward to eating at Thai Orchid every time they come to visit. We ordered a large order for takeout tonight, and everyone was so disappointed. We always get the same dishes so we are very familiar with the dishes and always LOVE our meals. Tonight, they told us it'd be 30 min for our order to be ready. We arrived after about 40 minutes and had to wait another 30 minutes for the order to be ready. I wonder if they just forgot and threw it together quickly? They didn't give us the correct number of rice sides. Annoying but no big deal. The real disappointment was that we order 4 orders of Panang curry chicken, tofu, etc. We asked for some to be medium spicy. All the dishes were super bland, watery, and not even the right color. Panang curry from here has always had a reddish tint to it bold delicious peanut flavors it's really delicious. The sauce is super thick and creamy. Our dishes tonight were watery, bland, and the color and consistency of coconut milk. They had absolutely no flavor. No one wanted to eat them and so our guests were still hungry after dinner. So disappointing all around.
Thai Orchid Restaurant is just okay. It doesn't seem to get that busy. That may be because it's just kind of okay. It's nothing to get all excited about. They have some good healthy options. I had the pad Thai with tofu. It was about $8 for the lunch portion. The tofu was kind of undercooked. It was a bit too squishy for my liking. The meal also seemed to be mostly the rice and tofu. It didn't have much of the advertised peppers. The service is pretty quick. I would choose another place instead of Thai Orchid if it's more convenient. It seems to be average so it's not good enough to make a trip for. The food is good enough if you're around there.
Fantastic food but the first time I them I learned they were closing in 7 days. I really wish I knew about them years earlier!
My go to Asian food when I'm back in Columbus and have been going for 20+ years. Can never go wrong with pad Thai, but my favorite dish is the phad prik king (seriously spicy).
Highly disappointed! This place used to be really good, I have no idea what's happened. I don't know if it's under new management or new cooks but was very disappointed with our recent visit. We came in for dinner on a Friday evening around 7-7:30pm and the place was a ghost town. We got seated and the first thing I noticed was there was a table that was dirty with dishes so I assumed that the customers might have just left right before we got there. That same table stayed dirty through our whole dinner. Mind you, the place was not busy! As for the actual food, our pad see ew was flavorless not tasty, it was sticky, over cooked. The yellow curry dish was too sweet. The other 2 dishes we had were fair. Thai fried rice and Thai basil dish was decent. It's the only reason I'm giving this 2 stars. Im really hoping that they figure it out and turn it around.
