No menu and no prices but no problem. Bruce nd his wife Julia are so engaging and entertaining the evening flew by. The food, ostrich, tuna, and buffalo was superb. Julia's desserts were soooo tasty. YaYa,our hostess, was very charming and fixed some wonderful drinks. We will be there again next year.
Delicious, interesting and innovative!! Love the ever changing menu and to be able to watch Bruce and his team create magic right in front of us as if they were in our own home. Lovely surroundings and Julia is charming!! A must try!!
The trio of Chef Bruce, wife Julia, and trusted hostess YaYa make visits to PV seem like home....except better! No menus or chalkboards...combine Bruce's creativity with local produce. A few questions about preferences and delights and Bruce's imagination creates a personalized delicacy. Last Saturday I heard words foreign to me..."how do you like your ostrich?" Now I know I like it medium rare! Each course...and there are many...is brilliantly presented, like the cauliflower and blue cheese Brie soup with yogurt and fresh herbs, and the wild, local arugula, beautifully peppery, with nuts, figs and balsamic....and the seared scallop in black sesame seed with entwined shrimps and passion fruit! Wow! Dessert was a lemon tart with raspberry and chocolate sauce. I learned that ostrich is well matched with a tangy Mexican wine, Convertible (with a steering wheel on the label). I also learned that Licor 43 is well matched with everything!! We had periodic tours of the kitchen to see Chef Bruce at work and I enjoyed all the "toys"....souvide machine, thermomix, smoking gun. Bruce's culinary skills, plating genius along with his ability to connect made this an Experience to Remember. Bruce knows how to source his food, Julia's legal background makes her a fascinating conversationalist and dessert-creator, and YaYa offers the magic of Mexico. Our son is a chef "at home" and Bruce's generosity in sharing experiences, ideas, and wisdom distinguished this from mere fine dining.
