Swell Beach Bar - Puerto Vallarta

It’s not a vacation without a visit, or two, to the Swell Bar! I follow them on Facebook and sigh at every post when I’m In Michigan. It’s a perfect location to people watch as they stroll along the beach. The Swell has lounge chairs with towels, tables and umbrellas beachside. This is perfect for our group that has both sun worshippers and shade dwellers. They have a great menu and their servers are responsive. We are especially thankful when we have Speedy for our waiter. He is amazing and truly lives up to his nickname. Headed back to Michigan. Looking forward to living virtually at Swell Bar through their Facebook photos. Until next year…

I ordered two drinks. Double vodka sodas. The bill was $640 Mexican pesos. Other than the cost, the service was good.

We ordered a shrimp ceviche appetizer and it took almost an hour to arrive. The shrimp was raw and it wasn’t in the sauce we ordered. The waiter told us it was ok, but we sent it back. We ordered chicken nachos. That took more than 30 minutes to arrive. It was terrible!! It was dried out chicken and the cheese was burned! We asked for salsa which never arrived. When we got the bill the tried to charge us for the ceviche we returned! Bad experience!! We won’t be back!!

My favorite place on the beach. Been going for years. Loungers or Chairs, your choice with umbrellas. Outside shower if you don’t like to swim in ocean. The service is impeccable and Speedy is my ALL time favorite server but they are ALL good. 5 star service on a 2 star price. The owner, Marco is always there. Their food is great! A must go to spot.

We stayed 3 weeks at the El Dorado so walking to the Swell Bar was a piece of cake. We went here 3 or 4 times. My wife and I would usually stop down late afternoon for a beer (or two) and a Margarita (or two) and a plate of chips/salsa and just watch the world go by. Wait staff was always attentive and very quick with our drinks. For what we were looking for, this was an awesome place!
