It is difficult to find authentic Mexican cuisine in Quito, but this restaurant offers the best we have tried yet. The prices are reasonable and we highly recommend it.

I decided to try out a new taqueria called Viva Zapata. As someone who takes their tacos seriously, I was impressed with the quality of the food. We started with a pozole soup that was perfectly balanced in flavor and protein - I loved it! The assortment of tacos I ordered was delicious, with tender and flavorful meats and handmade tortillas. We also tried the flautas, which were a feast of goodness. What stood out the most was the exceptional service - three different staff members checked on us throughout the meal. We will definitely be returning to Viva Zapata.
