María José Peruvian Gourmet

This is the first authentic Peruvian restaurant in the Coachella Valley. Note that it is located within an abstract stripe center in Rancho Mirage, says the shield MJ Gourmet. If there aren't many cars, don't worry. They're for a big treat. If you are familiar with this kitchen, you will be very happy if you are not.... They'll be ecstatic. The aromas are really special, there is something for everyone. Please go outside your comfort zone when ordering, you will be rewarded. Every dish is beautifully presented, the food is very fresh. The owner and the staff are very attentive. The service is a little slow, but every waiting is worth it. Make reservations, the room is small and intimate, simple and tastefully decorated. Nice little bar if you have to wait. Be prepared for a real treat. Happy Dining!

Amazing food, wonderful host (which I believe is the owner) and our server was also beautiful. We had the Lomo Saltado and the salmon court and every dish was really excellent, along with the sauces. It is great to have an authentic and well-respected Peruvian restaurant in the area, I recommend Maria Jose's!

The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It is a fairly new restaurant, so Maria Jose was very open to feedback and wants to make sure that each person has a pleasant experience in their restaurant

Unique Peruvian dishes. Great presentation with friendly service. I highly recommend it.

Our 1st time having Peruvian good Great tastes. Waiters were very helpful explaining the different dishes. The owner Maria Jose comes to each table to make sure everything is OK. Will be back
