Our annual autumn holiday in the Bavarian Forest was once again. Many hikes, excursions, but also trips on the horses of our farm were on the plan. My three girls go all morning and until the late afternoon with the horses in the vast areas of the Bavarian Forest I had enough time to fill the GG database. I also met the “Wurstglöckl” in the rain. Not far from the market, directly to the Regener Church is the butcher shop with a connected inn “Wurstglöckl” of the Kasparbauer family. Some parking spaces are located right in front of the inn, and you can find more at Regener Marktplatz. The interior recalls the late 80s, but the benches and chairs are sufficient. The inn is connected to a butcher shop, so fresh meat products are always guaranteed. Since on this sunny Monday our little one was already 12 years old and her wish was to go for dinner, we decided to test the “Wurstglöckl”. The “Wurstglöckl” is one of the few pubs that were opened in the rain region on Monday evening. But this is the case in many regions that have closed most pubs/restaurants on Monday. My girls stared at the inn shortly after 18:00 from all day trips. Two tables were occupied. One of the tables was occupied with the regularity that enjoyed her evening beer, another with two hikers who just took her evening bread. We were accompanied by a friendly lady to a big table, the cards were handed over immediately. After a short study of the selection of drinks, we chose a large light of the Brewery Falter Regen for 2,50 €, two large Cola a ́2,80 € and an apple choir for 2,70 €. The drinks were at the table right away, but we haven't finished the selection of dishes yet. So we had time to study the map. This was unfortunately quite confusing, small appetizers were completely disappeared. Otherwise, the map kept typical Bavarian dishes as well as good-bourgeois, German cuisine. After we had fought through the map, we chose a cheese carving with pommes and salad for €9.60, a pork malt “Swissli” with cheese baked with croquettes and salad for €11.90, a pork malt “Mediterran” baked with tomato mozarella, with homemade latency and salad for €11.20 and our birthday 50 cakes. The other two dishes served with Spätzle were unfortunately arrived at our table five minutes later. The salad plate to the dishes was relatively small, covered with fresh leaf salad, potato salad in oil, tomatoes, carrots and acidic white herbs. I'm sure it's better, but the butcher is waiting for the meat. The included plates let us see why no appetizers were offered.... These were more than abundant, especially the carvings. My pork “Swissli” was filled with a plentiful cheese that gave the wood a very special touch. The lumbers were fresh and delicate, the croquettes were normal wholesale. The cheese carving was huge, with cheese and roasted onions above. The meat is cut thick and freshly prepared. Not dry, but nice tender and juicy. A small stick carrot and salad should inflate the plate next to the huge pile of pommes. The pommes were crisp and not too fat. The Mediterranean pork larvae were covered with lots of tomatoes and cheese, the slices were severely cut and gently roasted. The homemade laths were more than abundant, but unfortunately somewhat dry. This plate again with some carrots and salads. The baked pork fillet with cheese, homemade hob and tomatoes was the best for everyone on the table. The fillet is about two centimeters thick, properly fried without drying the meat, the butcher sink juicy and fresh. Here again a huge pile of Spätzle, again unfortunately a bit dry again. And of course the usual salad supplement was not missing. Unfortunately, this court was very salty. Too bad. Overall, we left 61.20 euros in the sausage bell. The guest room as well as the toilets were clean and well maintained, the waitress always laid friendly and for a small joke and laugh.
So cool, simply delicious. Only recommended. Best butcher shop in the whole of Bavarian Forest. First of all the staff is 10/10
We ate there twice during our 17 day vacation. We were thrilled. Great service, great food and great value for money. We also shopped at the butcher shop twice. Totally delicious white sausages. Best ever : Definitely coming back there on our next vacation. See you soon
There is nothing better. Above all, price/performance advice and quality are unmatchable. Great variations and new creations such as meatloaf from a jar are on the agenda. The Italian salami and chorizo as well as the ham are master class.
