Einholt Apartments - Reykjavik Island

Relatively low price for apartment (incl. Dishes, refrig. and ability to cook). But the room we got was with external entrance from outside, l facing a construction site. The room was poorly sustained (lamp doesn't work, bath door doesn't close, not well cleaned)

While the location is decent, and the kitchen fairly well equipped, this property has some serious cons. The main one is the shower. To get in the shower you have to negotiate an 18 -20 platform, with nothing to grab onto. Any little kid, elderly person, or person with any kind of mobility issues will injure themselves for sure. I felt very unsafe getting out of the shower. The next negative is the layout. Nice size kitchen, and huge common room, but then tiny bedrooms with almost zero space. In the master bedroom, there are two twin beds jammed against the wall under the window. The person in that bed has to clamber over the other person to get in or out. Terrible. Another negative is the fact that there were active, noisy construction sites in front of and behind the property. I understand how that is beyond the control of Stay Apartments Einholt, but you would think they could advise of it, and perhaps charge less than the $500 per night we paid. That was our rate booking three months in advance. Oh, and no elevator. You get to carry your luggage up the stairs. Avoid this place. Definitely not worth the money.

Enjoyed the Stay apartments. We arrived early in the morning and were able to put our luggage in storage and explore the city. Very close to downtown, grocery store around the corner, amazing coffee shop across the street and loved the self serve. Very close to bus stop 13 for bus tour and airport pickup. Apartments were clean and bright and had everything needed for the stay as well as additional towels, toiletries in each of the areas, if needed. Black out curtains worked well and neighborhood was quiet. Beds and pull out couch were comfortable. Furnishings were mainly IKEA simple and functional. No elevator, only stairs so had to carry the suitcases up the stairs. Would definitely book the Stay Apts again.

The place isn 't so bad... Comfortable beds, good shower, has a small kitchenette. But after we booked we had to contact them by phone to get the entrance code, which took them more than an hour. (Self checking) Too hot inside the room and can 't open the windows much. Also we got a room with street view, so we had to have the courtins closed all the time. If you 're stuck or looking for a cheap place, it 's ok. (Although it 's not cheap at all)

The room was moldy, the bath was dirty, the furniture has also seen better days. We didn't cook here as the cutlery provided was filthy. Would not book again.
