Went for Sunday lunch and there were 2 x vegan options for starter, main and desert. Thoughtful tasty food in a popular charming pub with welcoming friendly and attentive staff
Stayed at The Bruce Arms for two nights and was delighted by the vegan options available. I had the vegan full English breakfast on the first morning and it was hands-down one of the best vegan breakfasts I've had. There were staple items such as sausages, mushrooms and spinach but the addition of sweet potato and black pudding pushed it into the realms of something really special. The pub itself has a friendly atmosphere and the manager is eager to ensure that there are vegan options available for both food and drink. Would absolutely recommend popping in for food or booking in for a longer stay if you want to explore the local Yorkshire area.
Went for a Sunday lunch, and it was one of the best I’ve had. Used only seasonal veg, the nut roast was yum, and they also had vegan Yorkshire puddings which is always a win! Will definitely be back, as they had such a wide selection of food to choose from including desserts!
I made a great find, all thanks to happycow! I've driven past this place countless times, only 9 miles away from me, and never imagined it was so vegan-friendly. From the outside, it seemed like a spot where retired folks gathered. Even though there wasn't much to choose from during lunchtime, what was available was more than satisfying and we will definitely be coming back. The service was friendly and excellent, aside from the wait for the bread. The food was well-prepared, accompanied by a selection of gin tonics with plenty of ice. The beautiful Georgian building still retains most of its original features, including an open fire. I appreciated the sign outside welcoming muddy boots and dogs, but not racist uncles.
