Avaliação da contribuiçãoWent here as part of the romance package at the Mayne island resortThe waitress we had was very pleasant and attentive.
We arrived at 3:30 on a Monday afternoon. The restaurant kitchen had just closed to prep for dinner. The server invited us to stay on the patio and have a drink while we waited. The view from the patio, even with the haze from the wildfires on the coast, was fantastic. Our server informed us that they were very busy because they were only two restaurants operating and getting supplies onto the island was problematic so the kitchen would be opening half an hour later. We were offered free chips and salsa while we waited. it was worth the wait! My husband had the bacon wrapped tenderloin which came with the soup and salad bar and I had the beet salad. The food was quite good. Word of warning - the bottle of wine was served in a caraf so our plan of taking wine back to our cabin didn't pan out. We sure had a fun walk home though!!
Our family of four enjoyed our supper but were very frustrated with the slow service. It was the long weekend and mostly full but we waited well over an hour for our food.
We stayed for a couple of nights at the Mayne Island Resort. It was fantastic. I highly recommend it. For $170 a night during peak season, you can't beat it.Anyway, we also had 2 dinners and a fantastic lunch at the Bennett Bay bistro. For lunch, my wife had the 2 pc halibut and chips and I had the beet salad. Holy cow - both were fantastic! And reasonably priced! The halibut was very tasty and there wasn't much batter. The salad was fresh and tasty. For dinner, we shared a calamari and it was exceptional. Included in the the main price was an unlimited (fresh) salad and soup offering. For my main, I had the curry, shrimp bowl and my wife had the Mediterranean seafood pasta dish. Both were out of this world. And they only cost $18- $21.Tonight we are going back again for dinner because our previous experiences were so good. I can't wait. By the way, did i mention that they have an amazing deck that overlooks Bennett Bay and the Georgia Straight. In fact, you can see all the way to Mount Baker!
When you stay at the Inn you can access this restaurant for lunch and dinner. Great patio and food is top notch for the value. Great sport to get your island fish and chips feed!
