Avaliação da contribuiçãoI 'd been meaning to try this place for years as we have a holiday home in the area. Finally we got there and were really happy with our lunch. We were greeted warmly by the husband and wife team who were at pains to find us a nice table. They were lovely with our grumpy 8 year old. I mentioned that I 'd heard their ravioli were great and was shown the freshly prepared pasta in the kitchen. They had made about 5 varieties that day and in the end we agreed on a mixed antipasti which was generous amounts of cheese, prosciutto, home grown and marinaded vegetables (absolutely delicious and I even got the recipe out of them! and a selection of the ravioli which were light and interestingly flavoured...with such things as saffron, truffle, mint, potato, classic ricotta and spinach etc, and some simple pork ribs all washed down with some very reasonably priced wine. Our only complaint was that we were too stuffed to have a dessert! This is the best of real Italian traditional cookery. For me it sums up the 'less is more ' dictate of Italian cookery which relies on top quality ingredients and then doesn 't obscure the favours. It 's a restaurant run by a couple who are confident and happy in what they offer in their wonderful restaurant. We 'll be back often!
Had a relaxing lunch here with 6 friends. The location is amazing with unhindered view over the whole valley and full sunshine inside the eating room! The cuisine greatly combines typical roman-Sabina cuisine with a nice touch of Sardinia (the region of owners' origin). The menu is presented orally and is stable in its genuinity. Mixed Antipasti are a very nice way to start with some vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts and pane carassau (typical Sardinian flat bread). Primi piatti are all great homemade pasta: mixed ravioli MUST NOT BE MISSED. Grilled lamb meat in skewers (arrosticini) are juicy and tenders and traditional of central-Italy. Desserts are also worth a taste. Prices are a lot more than reasonable! Will surely come back.
This is a wonderful place to go for the quality of food, the passion for the food of the very friendly wellcoming owners , and general feeling of being taken care of. We had well chosen antipasti, perfect ravioli with various fillings, simple but delicious pasta. vegetarians will have no problems choosing something satisfying but healthy, whilst those looking for something more meat-laden will most certainly not be disappointed.. i can not recommend this place highly enough.
I am writing this review a year after we visited Trattoria Del Compare but my mouth is still watering at the memory! During a visit to nearby Casperia to visit friends we were taken on a hike to a hermitage in the surrounding mountainside. After almost 3 hours of hiking we were tired and quite hungry. We arrived in Roccantica and decided to have lunch. The next 3 hours were a huge highlight of our trip to Italy. We started with antipasti platters of cheeses, sausage and bread. A Sardegnan flatbread cracker topped with juicy cubed Italian tomatoes was amazing! I couldn't get enough of it. We sipped on white wine and perseco. Next course was the pasta. Three of us had the stuffed ravioli. The pasta melted in your mouth and all 3 had different fillings. We followed with ribs, cooked simply but full of flavour. Lastly was dessert. Sweet pastry and two liqueurs called Mirto and Filu ferra. A perfect ending to a perfect meal. My husband and I have talked about it and we think that it was such a memorable meal because for 3 hours we sat and visited with our friends while enjoying fresh beautiful local food. Also this restaurant is family run and you are treated like family. I highly recommend Trattoria Del Compare to anyone who is in the area!
What started off an impromptu decision ended up being one of the best days I'd had in a long time. We were greeted by the owners, one of the friendliest families you could ever wish for. The delicious food was served with loving pride and their willingness to please was their priority. I shall definitely be coming back each time I want to be pampered by breathtaking views, heartwarming hospitality and above all delicious food,
