Charley Brown's - Rochester

Charlie Brown's in Penfield is definitely our place for special occasions, family celebrations where we from the city guests for wonderful food and great service. Today (Wednesday, 5 August 2015) I had dinner there with a group of friends meeting at CB once a month. The food was wonderful. I had the pork chop. It was a delicious, generous and thick cut that was boiled directly with afantastic fruit glaze from this world. I even took the bone home to remove any last juicy morsel from the bone. Of course, the salad was a great starter with the peppercorn dress, and the vegetables were right. The deserts are all good, but one of my favorites is the rice pudding. Make sure the server only heats it a bit. This improves the caramel topping and the tip of the whipped cream. By the way, if you like greens and beans, CBs is the best. Same with the Risotto! Not only is the food great, but the portions are generous, the service is gracious, professional and friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable!. The wine list is very varied and there is always a new special vintage to taste. For my husband and me and our friends and family, Charlie Brown is the best.. Can be small, dark, but like a fine wine.... Good friends always come for great meals! One of my favs!

My wife and I drove up to Rochester from Ithaca to surprise our daughter for her birthday back in February. We were not familiar with the restaurant options available to us, so we made our choice by Google reviews and the website's pictures using Maps. We were NOT disappointed. We got the perfect table to surprise our daughter and her partner. The food was fantastic. The service was equally fantastic. Our waitress was there when we needed her and not when we didn't. I'm still not sure how she did that, but she did, and she was very good at it. The surprise and dinner were a complete success. I highly recommend Charley Browns and would like to thank the servers, management, staff, and owners.

Expansive and delicious looking menu. I got the chicken french which came with a split pea soup, both of which were fabulous. Don't let the outside fool you, it's delicious perfect Italian food for a great valued price! Highly recommend going; will be going back hopefully semi regularly.

Large family owner restaurant. My family and I have been coming to Charley Brown for 15 years. The owners are on site every night and we are always greeted personally with a smile and a handshake. The prices are reasonable, drinks are well poured and the food is great and very consistent. You have some great specials and live jazz Friday and Saturday nights. If we have friends from the city, we'll always take them to Charley Browns.
