Avaliação da contribuiçãoIt is a motel-style accommodation. The rooms were nice and clean. We were surprised that it was motel-like with room doors outside, which was tricky because it was raining the night we arrived. The pool was not attached to the rooms, so we had to walk outside in the rain to get to the pool house. The pool house is VERY warm. Although, there were no pool towels, so we had to use shower towels. The grab-and-go breakfast was decent. It is all prepackaged. I would rate this 3.5 stars if allowed.
It’s lovely property with a spacious room and bathroom. The breakfast is very basic but is served with a smile. We had a strange experience when we got back to the room late evening.. the room hadn’t been cleaned inspite of the sign put on the door. On complaining to the lady at the reception we were told we plan to remove the signs in all rooms as we are under staffed and can’t clean all rooms! That’s absurd given the high room rents being charged! We were able to convince them to move us to another room thankfully Other than this all else was nice
If you're looking for spacious rooms a great location... this is the spot Located within walking distance (or a short drive) to the local train station you can get right into Boston, Salem, Gloucester, and many more conveniently). You can also drive into each of these places from here quite easily also. Room provides a microwave, mini fridge the other normal hotel amenities. Rooms are quite spacious the housekeeping does not come around unless you ask them to (which could be noted somewhere unless we missed it somewhere). The pool is quite large there is a nice outdoor sitting area with fire There is also a bbq provided that you can use Hotel provides a continental breakfast with enough food drink provided that you'll feel fed. (coffee, tea, juice bagels, muffins, oatmeal, fruits, cereal bars, danishes)
The pool is great for all and there is a nice picnic lounge area outside it with a fire pit. The common facilities are attractive and good. A licensed bar would be a nice addition for the evening so that there’s something to do other than sit in the room. Shame you have to ask to have your room cleaned (and even then, they didn’t do it once when we asked). The bedrooms are adequate and functional (if fairly dark and gloomy) but our bathroom was extremely cramped (for a family room) and the rooms are tired and in much need of an update. A couple of the reception staff are very off-hand, almost to the point of rudeness. The breakfast is extremely basic and a poor excuse for a ‘deluxe continental’ spread: packaged bagels and sweet yogurts with no fresh milk available. Overall an adequate stay but they could do better.
We’ve been coming to this hotel on and off for years upon visiting Rockport, but I noticed a definite cutting of corners, certainly in the breakfast buffet. Take a look at their online photos and you’ll see two hot serving trays, and a cold cereal dispenser. Both of which are missing now so it’s sort of false advertising. What is available is pre-wrapped pretty awful bread and industrial bagels, and a few other items. The coffee was pretty poor as well. I certainly don’t expect a hot gourmet breakfast when a hotel advertises continental breakfast, but something better than this is what you usually find these days. I fully expect that they will blame this on Covid, which is become an easy thing to say to sneakily reduce costs. They need to step up their game here. Plus we were told by the front desk clerk sorry, no room service, due to staff shortages. I will bet this is just another way to save a few bucks on labor costs. And…the Wi-Fi had no signal. So our next trip to visit Rockport I have a feeling we will look elsewhere to stay.
