Avaliação da contribuiçãoDinner was excellent! A spacious restaurant serving Italian dishes and pizza. Lovely ambience, lots of seating. Seating with heaters outside. We had late meal so House salad and Puzza Umbria with mushrooms and pizza Margherita were perfect! Waitstaff very kind and attentive. We had a perfect meal!
This restaurant exceeded my expectations, especially considering some of the previous reviews. The mussels were small and sweet, enhanced with sliced garlic and a touch of Pernod, all enveloped in a slightly thicker sauce that adhered beautifully to the mussels. The Umbria pizza was delightful, featuring mushrooms, truffle oil, and fresh arugula. While the crust was tasty, it could have benefited from being a bit crisper. We also tried the special lobster carbonara, which showcased excellent pasta cooked just 30 seconds past the ideal al dente. If you're a chocolate lover, the chocolate budino is a must-try. The mousse component was enjoyable, but the flourless cake was exceptionally good—perfectly rich without being overly sweet, as many can be. Plus, make sure to sit at Paul’s table; he's a professional, friendly, and fantastic guy.
We had high expectations for this restaurant, but unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. My boyfriend and I visited on a Thursday evening around 7:30 PM and ended up leaving after 40 minutes without even placing a drink order. After being seated, it took 20 minutes for our server to bring us the drink menu, and then he disappeared again for another 20 minutes. When he finally returned, he was rude and condescending, failing to acknowledge the lengthy wait we had endured. When we attempted to place our food order, he informed us that he had mistakenly given us the wrong menus and then left us again. At that point, we decided to leave. We had hoped for a nice date night, but this experience was simply unacceptable. Fortunately, we went to another restaurant in Rockland afterward and had a wonderful time.
We ate several meals here while staying at the samoset. The staff were GREAT! Folks were pleasant and approachable. There is a bit of a lag with service, so don’t be in a rush if you eat here. We ate lobster, cuz when in Maine, eat lobster. Way over cooked, didn’t taste fresh. I would equate this restaurant to an Applebee’s or Olive Garden. It’s fine. Won’t knock your socks off. Cocktails great. Drinks on the deck, amazing. Breakfasts are also available and also just fine.
The atmosphere at the Samoset was quite nice. I would not reccomend the food. I had the Saltibocca Chicken. It was a plain chicken breast with cheese melted on top. The wafers you get at church have more flavor. Definitely not worth 32 dollars. The bruschetta was just sad.
