Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe decided to try Prelude before going to a recent concert. Thankfully we made reservations at 5:00 two hours before the show started. We were seated at 5:00 and then waited a half hour before being acknowledged. We were looking all around so the manager finally came up and asked how we were doing. When I asked where our server might be the manager said that they were still excited about school just starting and that they tended to be late. Ok? Our waiter finally showed up and took our order. It took forever to get our drinks/food etc. When our food finally came it was very mediocre. It was the quality of a mall restaurant. Nothing special at all. We barely made the start of the show at 7:00. Dinner for two came to over $100 and it wasn't worth it the only positive aspect of the meal was that the dining room was very pretty. I will certainly eat a large and late lunch before the next concert so I don't have to worry about eating dinner. I can't imagine ever going back to Prelude.
We have eaten at Prelude on several occasions and sadly find the food very inconsistent as we did before a Symphony performance this month. My husband had an excellent first course with wild rice. It was generous and delicious. I had the charred Caesar salad which was skimpy and very mediocre. We both had the swordfish and found it somewhat dry and not very flavorful. My husband's piece was about 1/2 the thickness of mine and very dry. Mine was OK but not great. We ordered one apple streusel which was tasty but very hard to eat. It was really a baked apple with a bit of ice cream. Really needed a sharp knife to cut through the peeling. This was not a true streusel. We do love the students and never mind if they're a little slow with the service so we don't consider that a negative. Lovely dining area and an amazing woman manager who checks in with everybody to make sure everything is OK. She's consistently sharp and friendly. In all fairness we have eaten here with absolutely outstanding food and guessing it's hard to find excellent chefs to work inconsistent schedules as it's a performance oriented dining room.
One of my friends ordered a drink at the bar during an event (food was covered but not beverages) and signed the check as they received their drink. For whatever reason they didn 't tip on their $7 drink, but the barkeep (not a student, an older gentleman) proceeded to ask how their drink was. They said fine because they had not even tasted it yet. He seemed mad so I asked what was wrong. He started to berate my friend for not tipping. After my friend left he told another friend of ours that your friend should never come back to this bar or else. Or else what? It was an absolutely ridiculous display and one of the most unprofessional moments I 've ever witnessed. I tried calling and leaving a voice mail but received no response.
Just had dinner here, prior to a concert. Excellent food, great service and a very nice start to the evening. Lovely surroundings.
Food was amazing! Service was bad. The waitress was new and she was sweet but I felt the issues were somewhat out of her control. We asked her and then another staff member for wine and it didn't come for 30 minutes until the end of our dinner so we had to chug it before the concert which wasn't enjoyable. The employees all seemed new and confused.
