Avaliação da contribuição10-15 walk from Ruhpolding where we are staying. Beautiful place with lovely view of the mountains and the Unternberg in particular. Clearly a very popular place and gets very very busy. There is a terrific selection on the menu and it must cater for everyone. I got a coffee and what turned out to be a massive slice of apple cake. The cake was lovely, and there was a lot of it. The only negative really was the wait for it. It was very quiet when we got here (circa 11am) but we had to wait for some 20 minutes before the cake came. Wasn't the end of the world on such a lovely day and I'm sure that this isn't a common experience. I would certainly recommend this place to visitors looking for coffee and cake or maybe somewhere for lunch.
If your in the area (heck, if your in Germany) the short or long drive is worth the visit. You will find yourself set back in time and you will enjoy yourself. The Windbeutelgräfin (Cream Puff Countess or Countess of the Cream Puff) is is one of the best kitchens in the area. As you can see in the pictures, the Cream Puff looks rather large. It comes in several different variations. It is a must. The rest of the menu is worth mentioning as well. Here you can not go wrong. Dining area:Weather permitting and space available, you can sit outside with a great view of the hills/mountains. Indoors are worth a peak as well. The dining areas are divided into several rooms with different themes. Do not miss walking all the way to the back and then on the left in the last room. There await a lovely surprise. One of my favorite rooms. Service: The best service around. Very friendly and very honest when a mishap arises. Nobody is perfekt. I am not sure if English menus are available, but they do speak english. Very child friendly. They offer, like every good restaurant should, children portions. Overall:Very clean and you can take a peek in part of the ordering area, where souvenirs can be bought. Prices:The prices for the quality of food and service are fair. It is a tourist area. You to note that the restaurant is closed on Monday's, except if it a holiday. 10 am to 6 pm. Pay attention to the website for the time they are closed due to vacation time. They do need their rest as well. This is the "Betriebsruhe" on the first page of the website, just under the picture.
The Best Food, The Best place and service, if you want to eat A real Bavarian typical food, this is one of the Best places!!!!
Lovely cakes all with a personalized number to say how many have been sold since opening - mine was over 2 million! Waitresses in traditional dress and the younger ones spoke a bit of English so that was good for us. Very friendly staff
What a homely, atmospheric place! It is a big restaurant but had gorgeous little themed rooms, that are cosy and so typically Bavarian. We of course ordered the "Windbeutel" which were well, presented and more than enough for one person. I had the number 9, with strawberries and ice cream and it was so delicious. Being an intimate little room, we ended up chatting to the couple at the next table, who were locals and had lots to tell us. I loved it and would love to come back to try so many of their other items on the menu.
