Skippers - Saco

Some of the best fried seafood around. The Haddock sandwich is so big if you eat it all I can guarantee you'll roll out of the restaurant. Last nights fried clam box was just the right size, the clams were small delicious. Great French fries. Atmosphere is low key. Plenty of onsite parking. The owner is so nice cheerful. Her staff seems to always be smiling. Check out Skippers enjoy a great low cost meal of some seriously good fo 7-26-2019 update. Very disappointed my box of haddock was little pieces not flaky fresh as we've grown accustomed to.not a whole piece as has been the past. My wife had the small box haddock- wow two extra little pieces of Haddock for $4.00 more. The onion rings were ok but very greasy. The wife is always nice. This is the 1st time I ever saw the husband in the kitchen Something tells me he is the reason for such a disappointing meal. We've eaten here for 15 years always enjoyed it. Not anymore,there is much better fish close by.

My sister just moved down to Saco so we thought we'd try a neighborhood restaurant. We ordered take out. The lady on the phone was kind and the food was done within 15 mins. When I arrived the inside looked cared for and clean. They had their own parking lot and finding a spot was no problem. When I got the food back to the apartment, I was surprised at the small portions in the two chicken tender kids meals. I get it's a kids meal, but I shouldn't be able to count the amount of fries and tenders on one hand. The size of my haddock rachel sandwich and my sister's buffalo chicken wrap with fries was satisfactory. The flavors were pretty average, nothing stand out but good nonetheless. I'd go here again but next time order one adult sized meal and have my kids split it. I think it would be more food and for less money.

Don't be fooled by their homey exterior. They serve excellent seafood. Prices are reasonable and they have relatively clean bathrooms. You order/pay at the counter and pick up your food when the number is called. Service is friendly. The family feast Haddock (29.95) was excellent with the haddock fried in big chunks/nugget sized. Good for sharing. However, the best thing was the french fries. It is wedges, but with ridges. It was crispy and not too salty. It also comes with a 2 liter soda and some coleslaw. The meatloaf dinner (9.95) surprisingly was very delicious and soft. The meat was flavorful enough and it comes with 2 sides of your own choosing. The clam chowder (6.99) was not as creamy asI expected, but nevertheless delicious.

Usually have a great experience here . Only when you dine in though . Call in and get out on hold for 15 minutes with no apologies. Call back in to pay for bill and your given a negative sigh and put on another hold . Lady taking the calls can learn how to provide better customer service . I will no longer be dining here . Will find a different seafood to bring my friends and family .

Really good diner breakfast! We had the breakfast burrito, hash, and a crepe. All were very good. Corned beef was finely chopped and potatoes were crispy. The portions were generous and the service was fast and friendly. They serve lunch and dinner as well. The lady who recommended this place said that the fish sandwiches are the best.
