Avaliação da contribuiçãoEdit: The rapid and direct response for the owner I received is more than I expected. This was a 1 star review (see below that I am changing to the 5 stars the owner deserves. We can’t always predict how employees will behave, but the efforts to educate and correct are appreciated.———————I stopped in to grab an easy lunch at the bakery today. As a disabled person with a service animal, the manager of this location was more disrespectful than anything I have experienced since having a service dog.Having been to their other locations, I know the service and food. I have had nothing but good experiences previously. Not only was I intrusively questioned about the validity of my service animal, but the manager was blatantly wrong about ADA standards and laws regarding service animals and her industry. My attempts at explaining the laws I must follow to her were met with argument and more than one incorrect claim that it was different in food service locations.Trying to move past that and order bread, she was highly confrontational and rude. I asked if a loaf could be cut in half and was told the kitchen was separate from the food, and a cut of the bread loaf was not possible (even though I was buying the whole loaf. I asked if I could purchase pre-sliced bread and was told that the “portions are already set for the day,” so this was also not available. She even asked other customers who tried to enter behind us to stay outside. She clearly did not want us in her store and preferred that I leave rather than purchase anything at all.
What a find! They don 't advertise it but the bakery has dark rye loaves that taste exactly, *exactly* as if they came out of a better quality bakery in Finland or Germany. I haven 't tasted that since I was on the other side of the world.I also have had the whole wheat loaves with sesame sprinkled on, and that 's my personal favorite. Again, biting into a hunk from a freshly baked loaf was like stepping into a time/space portal back into the best bakeries I can remember.Whenever I am in Sacramento I will pick up a loaf from Faria. There 's a German compliment for craft bread with a certain crust that applies here: sie backen durch , or they bake all the way through. If you love a fresh baked crust and the explosion of flavors you get when chewing that, this is the place for you. If you prefer bread that 's more fluffy and soft, then this is probably not your style.BTW the coffee was great, I don 't know what they use but it tasted similar to Temple or Blue Bottle to me. An excellent cup to go with incredible bread.
I feel fortunate to have this place in Sac. The layer of flavors and attention to detail is very evident. I got the strawbrule and almond croissant and have not stopped thinking about them all day. Thank you for putting Sac on the map with this great find!
After reading so many good things about this bakery we decided to check it out. What a disappointment. The fare is incredibly overpriced for what you get $13 for a small loaf of bread?! The quality is seriously lacking: the almond croissant dripping with grease; the coffee cake too dense and slightly stale. But the kicker was the whole wheat bread. It looks nice but the crust was ridiculously hard and thick. Our very sharp bread knife could barely cut through it and when we were finally able to saw off a slice the flavor was blah. Will definitely not be back.
This bakery is really good, they have the best croissants and coffee in Sacramento! I’m French and I know what a good croissant is! I went there on a day that they were closed but this guy named Mahbod gave me some pastries because I came from a long way! Thank you!
