El Maguey - Saint Joseph

I'm glad that my wife is mexican when i come here. my spanish is rusty. we're always seated right away with our drink orders on the table right after being seated. our food comes very fast and hot even before we can finish our appetizers. best mexican food and atmosphere in the area.

The food was ok but the service was HORRIBLE! We never got a refill on chips and salsa or drinks. The waiter came to our table to take our order and never returned. Another person even brought us our food. We were the only ones there also! He was hiding in the back so he didn't have to do anything!

Absolutely disgusting! I ordered a tamale and chili relleno and new it was horrible on site with red plain tomato sauce on it. One bite and I sent it back before the waiter left the table. My wife ordered a steak quesadilla and it came with mushy stew meat and was sent back as well. We finished our drinks and asked for the bill to see they changed us for jumbo drinks when we were asked specifically if we wanted medium or jumbo and both said medium. $22 for two bad drinks. Daquari with no sugar on the rim and half a can of whipped cream and a glass of margarita mix. We stopped at Barbosa's and had a fantastic meal with great food, drinks and service.

My absolute favorite restaurant in town!! The food is always delicious and quick. I come here often so the servers have become familiar with me, but I always feel like I’m treated as a Queen! This will forever be my goto dining out option! Best Mexican food and margaritas in town, without a doubt!!

The food was good and prepared well. The restaurant was clean well decorated. Very nice, even on the outside. The service was not bad. Just not a lot of personality. They would smile and talk with themselves, but with customers it was short huffy answers. Deal breaker? Nope! We would go back again and I recommend it.
