Tayyaki - Saint Petersburg

This restaurant is a charming and cozy find, offering authentic Japanese desserts. However, the prices here are considerably higher than what you would find in Japan. It would be nice to see more savory options on the menu as well.

I went to this restaurant with a friend and she ordered the salmon fish, which was served in a messy but surprisingly positive way. It had a great taste, although it was quite small. I had the crab meat fish, which had a Russian style mayo topping and was overly salty. We also tried the rice triangles with crab and salmon, which were good but could have used more filling. For dessert, we had a unique dish of fried sweet rice powder in a salty sauce, resembling shashlyki style. Before our meal, we had Matt-tya, similar to a dish from Sri Lanka and delicious, even though it was given to me by mistake. The restaurant is cozy and has a sunny atmosphere, with cushions on window bars and only 20-30 seats. The chefs are talented, although not as fast-paced as some may expect. If you're looking for something different from traditional sushi rolls, Taiyaki is worth a visit. And just so you know, they don't serve any rolls there!

Manga is always available on the tables, and patrons are welcome to draw while enjoying delicious taiyaki or other Japanese street food. It's a fantastic place to connect with others who share an interest in Japan.

Small and fun place, where you will have the feeling to come into a manga Food is very cheap, Japanese of course and very good. Great place to have lunch or snack. I hope you might have the chance we had to see a young girl dressed in manga style
