Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe came here for our anniversary and it was one of my favorite meals we've gone to ever. The service was impeccable. We still talk about the creamy artichoke soup appetizer and the apricot soufflé. 10/10
Well worth the money. Doesn't get more bespoke than this. Food was high quality, and service knocked my socks off. Left feeling stuffed. My new favorite spot in SF.
It's been a minute, but I came back to GD for a milestone birthday celebration. Service is still attentive and friendly, same decor and 90's ambiance, and I noticed that the menu has changed a bit as I didn't see a particular duck dish I used to order. No matter, the portions were still nice, the soufflé is still what we expected and the food was tasty. I left happy... The drop in stars is due to my hurting my tooth by chomping on a piece of metal I found in my breakfast muffin that was gifted to us after our dinner. The pumpkin muffin was so delicious and I was enjoying every bite until I felt a really unpleasant and slightly painful crunch. The worst part was I swallowed the first crunch and when the second crunch happened, I spit out the metal piece. This isn't ok for any dining establishment, but it's especially bad for a place like GD.
Decent place with a good level of service. A very competent approach to my business. Keep it up. you are true professionals in your field.
2/12/23 Zach brought me here for an early Valentine 's Day celebration. He made a reservation the night before. Just heads up, the restaurant needs a credit card on file in case you no show or cancel; to which they will charge $50 per person. We made a reservation for 9pm. We were able to find parking down the hill near Fisherman 's wharf. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff and asked to wait a few minutes for the table to be ready. Inside, it 's pretty dark with spare lighting, perfect for a romantic dinner. There was some jazz playing softly in the background. When we were seated, our waiter asked if either of us had any allergies. I informed them that I had an allergy to pistachios and they reassured me that they would make sure the dishes we got would not contain or be contaminated with anything pistachio-related. While browsing the menu, we were a little overwhelmed with all the choices they had, so we decided to go with Chef Gary Danko 's Tasting Menu : 1. Glazed Pacific oysters with osertra caviar, leek fondue, zucchini pearls and lettuce cream 2. Horseradish crusted salmon medallion with dilled cucumbers and mustard sauce 3. Seared filet of beef with potato gratin, brussel sprouts, blue cheese butter, and shallot marmalade 4. A Selection of Farmhouse and Artisanal cheeses 5. Baked chocolate souffle with two sauces In addition to this, we added: 1. Juniper crusted venison on red cabbage, chestnut gnocchi and oranges 2. Lobster risotto You can do wine pairing with the tasting menu for an additional $130 but we decided not to do that since we knew the bill for the food alone was going to be a lot. Before the entrees came, we were served a complimentary amuse bouche that was made of butternut squash with red bell pepper. It was so small but super delicious. Next came the lobster risotto and the oysters. O-M-G, that risotto was so creamy and there are sizeable chunks of lobster in the dish. The oysters with caviar tasted like it came straight from the ocean, so super fresh. Next up was the roast lobster and the salmon medallion. You gotta try these dishes as well, especially if you like seafood because these were excellent. The two meat dishes were also super yummy; the meat was so tender it melts in your mouth. The cheese table had 16 different types of cheese! Being huge fans of cheese, we wanted to try them all, but we were only allowed to pick 4. I can 't remember which cheeses we got, but they were all very, very good. For dessert, I got the baked chocolate souffle that comes with both vanilla bean and belgian chocolate sauce. We were also given a small tray of sweets. The souffle was so chocolatey and overall delicious. To bring home, we were each given a small loaf of pumpkin cheesecake bread. I had that for breakfast the following morning, and it 's pretty darn good. The service at Gary Danko was impeccable. The staff are all super polite and professional. They also fold your napkin everytime you leave the table, to which Zach thought it was funny so he would purposely crumple it, and go to the bathroom, just to see it get refolded. Fresh plate sand utensils were given with every course. The overall atmosphere at Gary Danko was really great. I 'd definitely want to go back again but only for special occasions.
